Top 10 K-pop Artists Dominating Billboard’s World Albums Chart In August 2024: Stray Kids, BTS Jimin, and More!

Billboard has recently published the latest rankings for its World Albums chart. Along with numerous other artists, multiple names from the K-pop genre have earned placements on the chart with their recent music releases.

Top 10 K-pop Artists Dominating Billboard’s World Albums Chart for August 2024

Stray Kids – ‘ATE’

In 2024, Stray Kids had a successful beginning with their latest album, “ATE,”which made them the first ever K-pop group to debut five different albums at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was launched on April 16 and its lead single, “Chk Chk Boom,”has been creating a buzz online.

According to Luminate, the album has accumulated a total of 232,000 equivalent albums in the week ending July 24. The platform reported that the album’s sales consisted of 218,000 traditional album sales, 13,000 streaming album units, and 19.05 million streams, along with 1,000 track equivalent album units.

BTS Jimin – ‘MUSE’

Jimin’s second mini album “MUSE,”released on July 19, debuted at second place on the Top 200 Albums chart with its title track “Who.”

In addition, Jimin made history by becoming the first Korean solo artist to have more than one album reach the Top 2 on the chart, including his 2023 solo release “FACE.”

‘ROMANCE: UNTOLD’ by ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN’s second full album “ROMANCE: UNTOLD”debuted at No. 3, achieving second place on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart after its release on July 12.

According to reports, “ROMANCE: UNTOLD”achieved a total of 124,000 equivalent album units for the week ending on July 18, making it a successful release.

Upon analysis, it was discovered that the album had accumulated 117,000 sales from traditional formats, as well as 7,000 streaming units and 9.53 million audio streams.

NCT 127 – ‘WALK’

With its sixth full-length album “WALK”released on July 15, NCT 127 secured the No. 4 spot on the charts.

aespa – ‘Armageddon’

The top five was completed by aespa, who secured the position with their debut full album “Armageddon.”Released on May 27, the album not only featured the title track “Armageddon,”but also their second single “Supernova,”which gained popularity within the K-pop community.
