The current month of August has reached its halfway point, and multiple K-pop groups have gained popularity through their music releases, online presence, and various activities.
In order to gauge their level of fame, the Korean Business Research Institute has recently published the latest brand reputation rankings for K-pop groups. The institute was able to gather data from July 15 to August 15.
Top 10 K-pop Groups of August 2024
aespa
In August, aespa achieved the top spot as the most popular K-pop group, with a brand reputation index of 5,112,782.
The four-member group has been receiving widespread attention for their music, promotional efforts, social media activity, content, and global tour.
SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN also achieved a brand reputation index of 3,928,255, securing the No. 2 spot.
This August, the third-generation K-pop group gained attention for their announcement of a world tour and updates on Jeonghan and Jun’s activities in 2024.
The Institute of Vocational Education
I have achieved the No. 3 spot after receiving a brand reputation index of 3,807,785.
The girl group additionally unveiled their second Japanese mini-album “ALIVE”and its lead single “CRUSH”on August 7.
4. Red Velvet
Red Velvet achieved the fourth position with a brand reputation index of 2,735,116.
The group’s quintet was also celebrated for their continuing fancon tour and Billboard 200 accomplishment with their hit “Cosmic.”
5. tripleS
TripleS took over No. 5 and was able to achieve a brand reputation index of 2,553,846.
Stray Kids
Despite facing tough competition, Stray Kids secured the No. 6 spot with a brand reputation index of 2,320,853. The fourth-gen group’s comeback track “Chk Chk Boom,”along with their frequent social media posts and engaging content, contributed to their rising popularity.
7. Korean Girl Group – TWICE
At No. 7, TWICE maintained a brand reputation index of 2,220,149. The group continues to captivate their fandom with their content, and their youngest member, Tzuyu, created buzz with her highly anticipated solo debut.
BLACKPINK
After achieving a brand reputation index of 2,215,910, BLACKPINK secured the 8th spot on the charts. To commemorate their 8th anniversary as a group, Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa also came together for a livestream on Weverse.
NCT
NCT earned the No. 9 spot in August with a brand reputation index of 2,178,320.
10. SHINee
SHINee’s brand reputation index of 2,078,687 secured their place in the top 10 rankings.
