Despite the influx of new animes, One Piece remains the reigning champion in terms of popularity. Although the show is primarily recognized for its thrilling sea voyage featuring the Straw Hat pirates, combat also plays a significant role in their odyssey.
The anime is renowned for its incredibly intense battle scenes, which can be appreciated here.
10. Challenge of the Pirates
The battle served as a testament to the unbreakable and inspiring bond between the Straw Hats, as fans were able to witness. Arlong, the chief of the all fish-man crew, stood as the primary adversary in the Arlong Park Arc.
Upon discovering the extent of the cruelty and betrayal inflicted upon Nami by Arlong, Luffy made the decision to teach him a lesson. The intense and emotionally charged battle that ensued was one of the most memorable and well-choreographed fights from the earlier series. Ultimately, it culminated in Luffy emerging victorious over Arlong.
Whitebeard’s Crew Vs. Marines
The conflict between the two dominant naval forces is sure to be intense. The Whitebeard crew, known for their formidable strength, initiated a war against the Marines in response to the loss of their member, Ace. This battle escalated rapidly as numerous allies, including Luffy, joined in to lend their support.
The intense battle caused widespread destruction and numerous casualties. The arrival of Whitebeard marked a significant shift, but the hard-fought triumph was brief as both he and Ace lost their lives in the midst of the chaos.
8th Law Versus Blackbeard
The Blackbeard Pirates have gained a reputation for their fascination with Devil Fruit abilities. Originally members of the Whitebeard Crew, they eventually broke off to form their own crew after their captain betrayed Whitebeard and claimed a Devil Fruit for himself.
Despite playing a crucial role in the Wano Country Arc, Law ultimately met an unfortunate end following a clash with Blackbeard over the Road Poneglyphs. Despite his valiant efforts, Law was unable to overcome Blackbeard’s formidable dual devil fruit powers.
Nami vs. Khalifa
The Enies Lobby Arc, which is the sixteenth arc in One Piece, was full of captivating confrontations and pivotal moments. Among all the fights, one that stands out is the clash between Nami and Khalifa.
After Sanji is defeated by Khalifa, Nami takes it upon herself to confront her. Utilizing her quick thinking and ‘Mirage Tempo’ technique to disorient the CP9 agent, Nami ultimately emerges victorious with her powerful ‘Thunder Lance’ attack.
6. Luffy Vs. Magellan
The Luffy vs Magellan battle was a highly impactful event in the series. As the chief warden of Impel Down, the world’s most secure prison under the control of the government, Magellan harbored resentment towards Luffy for orchestrating a mass prison break in order to rescue Ace.
Despite the Straw Hat pirate’s valiant efforts, the fight against Magellan proved to be Luffy’s most challenging one yet due to the poison power of his opponent. Luffy even went to the extreme of sacrificing his arms in order to land a direct hit. However, in the end, Luffy tragically met his downfall in the fierce battle.
Sanji Vs. Queen
The battle between Sanji and Queen remains one of the most memorable moments in the One Piece series. It satisfied fans’ every desire with its high-quality animation, expertly choreographed movements, and outstanding voice performances.
Despite being a member of the powerful Beast Pirates and being Kaidou’s trusted confidant, Queen, Sanji’s fears of becoming a ruthless warrior like his siblings and discovering Some’s true intentions, prompted him to gather his courage. Utilizing his inherited genetic modification and armament Haki, Sanji awakens ‘Ifrit Jambe’ to not only defeat his enemy, but also break free from his past connections.
4. Zoro Vs. S-Hawk
S-Hawk, a clone of the world’s strongest swordsman Dracule Mihawk, was a seraphim created by Dr. Vegapunk, a member of the Marine’s Special Science Group. He was known to be the strongest, as demonstrated when he successfully fought against both Zoro and Luffy.
Upon seeing Mihawk, Zoro was instantly reminded of their previous battle, where he was ultimately defeated. The fight was intense and had been going well for Zoro until it was interrupted by the seraphim being ordered to stop. This nostalgic moment brought fans back to the initial fight between the two.
3. Luffy vs. Usopp
This conflict portrays the Strawhats, a group of close friends, turning against each other over the fate of the Going Merry. As their leader, Luffy was faced with the difficult task of retiring the ship, much to the dismay of Usopp. This leads Usopp to challenge Luffy to a duel in order to save the Going Merry.
Usopp, who understands Luffy’s thought process, strategically employs his tactics to trick him. While it initially appears to be successful, Luffy emerges victorious, resulting in an emotional parting between the two of them.
Luffy Vs. Rob Lucci (Rematch)
Following his intense battle against Rob Lucci, one of the formidable members of CP9 during the Enies Lobby Arc, Luffy found himself facing off against his opponent once more during the Egghead Arc. With both of them now possessing their awakened abilities, they prepared for yet another epic showdown.
The long-awaited rematch was truly spectacular, featuring stunning visuals and choreography that far surpassed its manga counterpart. Luffy, who had recently unlocked the power of the Sun God Nika and Gear 5, was finally able to emerge victorious over his opponent.
Luffy vs. Kaido
The long-awaited battle in One Piece exceeded fans’ expectations and caused a frenzy on the internet upon its debut. It was also the moment when Luffy first revealed his Gear 5 technique.
