According to a survey of more than 10,000 Japanese individuals, BTS Jin was selected as the top “Singing God”who epitomizes K-pop.
On June 24, Japanese media Danmee published the findings of their survey titled, “Who is the 30-year-old singing god who embodies K-pop”, which highlights idols with exceptional vocal abilities that surpass mere singing skills.
From June 14 to 21, a total of 10,073 Japanese netizens participated in the survey.
Nineteen K-pop idols in their 30s, known for their exceptional singing abilities, were nominated in this poll. After the survey ended, BTS Jin emerged as the clear winner.
Despite facing stiff competition from his senior idols, including members of JYJ, he emerged victorious in the rankings with 3,884 votes (38.56%).
Jin recently finished serving in the military for 1 year and 6 months and was honorably discharged as a sergeant from the Army on June 12th.
Fans in the comment section provided reasoning for their votes in support of him, stating:
- “Jin’s gentle singing voice touches the heart! He’s truly a singing god!”
- “When I first heard BTS’s’Crystal Snow,’ JIN’s voice was in a class of its own. It sounded like an angel was singing.”
- “Jin’s silver voice touches my heart. His high notes that reach endlessly are also beautiful.”
- “After being discharged from the military, Jin’s silver voice has become deeper and his singing voice has become even more beautiful. I was really moved. I can’t wait to see what’s to come.”
- “JIN has a good face, a good personality, a great singing voice, and is a god.”
In second place was Junsu, with 28.89% of the votes. Those who supported him also shared heart-warming reasons, such as:
“I’ll cry if I hear him live! I’ll get goosebumps. I want to hear every song in Junsu’s voice! The gentle warmth, the strength of his feelings, his heavenly voice, his majesty beyond words. Every song is unique, he’s a man born to sing! He must be an angel who brings happiness with his voice.”
After Jin and Junsu, Jaejoong secured third place with 24.23% of the votes, rounding out the top 5 were Super Junior’s Yesung (2.38%) and TVXQ’s Changmin (2.29%).
