On April 28th (according to local time), 40-year-old former Japanese actor Miura Kota made an appearance on Fuji TV’s late-night show “Bee The TOP”to discuss his life after retiring from the entertainment industry.
Despite the overwhelming support of many fans, Miura Kota made an appearance in this broadcast. He opened up about his decision to retire, citing the mental toll of his acting career being affected by the disappearance of drama roles due to the impact of COVID-19 in 2020.
Despite working part-time, he stumbled upon a YouTube video promoting a cleaning company owned by former comedian, Irie Shinya. Motivated by Irie’s business, Miura took a chance and reached out to him in June 2021. He was then granted an interview and ultimately joined Irie’s cleaning company, “Peekaboo”(ピカピカ), in July 2021, marking his retirement from the entertainment industry.
