In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, selecting the optimal drop locations is key to gaining an early edge and clinching that coveted Victory Royale in your Battle Royale encounters.
Whether you prefer loot-rich areas or tranquil locales with strategic importance on the map, certain spots in Fortnite stand out as superior choices when you leap from the Battle Bus.
As Fortnitemares has now been integrated into the game, some landing sites have been revamped. Fresh NPCs have also appeared to add excitement. If you’re eager to discover the prime locations to land, we have all the updates you need.
Below, you’ll find a list of the top landing spots to consider in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 — tailored to reflect the new points of interest introduced during Fortnitemares.
Top Landing Locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4
1. The Raft
The Raft stands out as the premier landing site in the Absolute Doom season.
Despite Castle Doom and the nearby Doomstadt POI grabbing more attention since the launch of Chapter 5 Season 4, The Raft is undoubtedly the top choice.
With a total of 83 chest spawns, including an impressive count of 4 Avengers and 6 Dr. Doom chests, the loot potential here is remarkable, especially for a smaller POI. The presence of mythic items and the chance to conquer Emma Frost alongside Gwenpool’s missions have made this area a go-to for players.
Stay alert and listen for enemy footsteps as you navigate the tight corridors and sections of The Raft prison. The replacement for Pleasant Piazza offers an experience reminiscent of a compact multiplayer arena.
If you manage to survive here, you will emerge loaded with loot and positioned strategically to traverse storm circles effectively.
2. Castle Doom
Castle Doom, the lair of Doctor Doom, is loaded with exceptional loot.
Taking second place is Castle Doom, quickly becoming a favored destination among players. This location features just one fewer chest spawn than The Raft, boasting 82 total chests and the same quantity of Avengers (4) and Dr. Doom chests (6).
Guarded by the NPC boss Doombot, who reigns from his throne, players can target specific areas of the castle or utilize the forge nearby for quicker looting opportunities. Defeating Doombot rewards you with the Siphon Medallion, Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, and the Monarch Pistol mythic.
Positioned at the island’s top right, exiting Castle Doom can be challenging, especially if you find yourself deep inside its walls, far from vehicles. The POI has numerous rooms and varied elevation levels, making movement more intricate compared to other locations.
Keep a close eye on the storm circles to avoid an urgent escape.
3. The Underworld
The Underworld has consistently been a strong landing spot in Chapter 5 Season 4.
The Underworld offers more chest spawns than Doomstadt, although they are spread out more. The green water here grants Underworld Dash charges, allowing for swift movements either to loot or make quick escapes.
Though you won’t find any Dr. Doom chests, there are 5 Avengers chests, contributing to a substantial total of 58 chests. Exercise caution as you navigate this relatively open area, as it leaves you exposed at close and medium range.
Recently, Mephisto has appeared in The Underworld, providing valuable services for acquiring loot and reviving teammates, albeit at a cost. Engaging with Mephisto does come at the expense of your health, but as long as you’re stocked up on healing items, this shouldn’t hinder your gameplay.
4. Doomstadt
Doomstadt is a quaint town governed by Doctor Doom.
Doomstadt ranks lower than the others as part of the new POIs introduced in the Absolute Doom season update but still surpasses many other locations from Chapter 5 Season 4.
This small village offers the fourth highest quantity of chest spawns with 53, comprising 2 Dr. Doom chests and 4 Avengers chests. Land directly on a house, keep sight of where opponents drop, then gather loot and eliminate any nearby foes.
Mysterio, the NPC boss here, drops his Stealth Medallion and the Sovereign Shotgun mythic.
5. Doom’s Courtyard
In the heart of Doom’s Courtyard, a statue of Doctor Doom presides over various chests.
Though not as loot-heavy as other locations on this list, Doom’s Courtyard is still a solid option due to its calmer atmosphere.
Fewer adversaries to contend with and familiar features from the Classy Courts POI, like the main building and parking area, make traversing this locale straightforward. It also contains 2 Dr. Doom chests to secure some premium Marvel loot.
We suggest landing directly beneath the statue’s heads, where you’ll discover three standard gold chests alongside a Dr. Doom chest. This ensures a rapid looting experience before tackling any nearby foes. Additionally, its strategic location between Castle Doom and Doomstadt offers a vehicle in the parking lot for a swift escape.
6. Freaky Fields
Freaky Fields is ideal for players seeking a stealthy approach.
As a new POI introduced with the 31.40 update, Freaky Fields can initially seem unsettling. However, it serves as an excellent landing site, especially if you’re on the hunt for Boom Billy. In this area, you’ll encounter Billy the Puppet as a boss, who drops valuable loot upon being defeated.
Beyond the loot prospects, Freaky Fields features a cornfield area, providing an opportunity for stealth play, allowing you to blend in while looting nearby supplies without becoming a target.
This location also allows access to high ground atop rooftops for better visibility over your surroundings.
7. Nitrodome
Nitrodome provides excellent movement options for rotational gameplay.
Previously bustling, Nitrodome has become quieter with newer locations introduced. This area excels in offering efficient rotations to other spots post-looting.
Utilize a Flowberry Fizz and nearby boosters to propel yourself swiftly in any direction you wish to explore next. Additionally, you’ll discover plenty of blue cactus scattered throughout, providing healing and shielding — ideal for gearing up before engaging in combat.
