S Tier Resonators

Jiyan Character

  • Jiyan – Jiyan is among the first five-star characters in Wuthering Waves, recognized as one of the top DPS characters in the game. He inflicts considerable aero damage to single and multiple targets and can control crowds effectively, making him an exceptional DPS choice.
  • Jinhsi – Right alongside Jiyan, Jinhsi also delivers incredible damage through her skills and resonance liberation. With stunning models and animations, Jinhsi is mobile and powerful, making her an ideal team member.
  • Verina – In a game with few supporting characters, Verina excels as the best sustain-focused resonator. She effectively heals and shields the team, making survival much easier when she’s present. She is crucial for any scenario thanks to her robust healing and buffs.
  • Xiangli Yao – As a newer addition to Wuthering Waves, Xiangli Yao has surpassed Calcharo as the leading electro resonator. He deals high damage, slows enemies, and boasts a fluid fighting style that feels intuitive.
  • Zheshi – Zheshi’s resonance skill, when combined with regular attacks, inflicts significant damage while her buffs enhance the team’s output. She’s an excellent sub-DPS, contributing even when not on the battlefield.
  • Changli – Changli delivers impressive fusion damage similar to Jiyan and Jinhsi. She has few flaws as a DPS and consistently proves to be one of the most formidable characters in Wuthering Waves.
  • Yinlin – Sub-DPS characters are always in demand, and Yinlin is a prime example. She excels in electro damage but her value comes from her ability to deal off-field damage, making her crucial for many meta team compositions.

A Tier Resonators

  • Encore – If you lack Changli, Encore is a great choice for fusion damage, capable of swiftly dispatching groups of enemies. However, she requires support for crowd control and sustain to be most effective, often pairing well with Yangyang, Sanhua, Verina, and Baizhi.
  • Calcharo – While Calcharo inflicts decent electro damage, he struggles to match Xiangli Yao. His skill set allows for consistent, high electro bursts, which are valuable nonetheless.
  • Mortefi – A top-tier four-star resonator, Mortefi is primarily a sub-DPS character. His capabilities to execute coordinated attacks when switching characters are particularly beneficial alongside Jinhsi, Jiyan, and Changli, providing significant off-field damage.
  • Rover (Havoc) – Rover’s Havoc transformation allows for substantial damage output. This variant is not only accessible to players but also effective in combat, delivering considerable havoc damage.
  • Baizhi – As a great alternative to Verina, Baizhi provides sufficient healing and sustain for teams lacking his effectiveness. Although capable of some attack buffs, she can only heal one character at a time.
  • Jianxin – Jianxin is versatile, offering durability, strong damage output, and parrying mechanics. Although she can’t heal, she’s a solid choice for teams needing overall flexibility.
  • Danjin – With a unique combat style that enhances damage at the cost of HP, Danjin excels at defeating enemies, but players must monitor her health closely.

B Tier Resonance

  • Sanhua – Sanhua is competent in battle, primarily serving as a sub-DPS for teams that leverage basic attack patterns, like Jiyan, Calcharo, and Encore.
  • Yuanwu – Yuanwu is an effective sub-DPS for electro damage. Functioning like Mortefi, he provides coordinated attacks but lacks additional benefits to warrant special tuning.
  • Rover (Spectro) – The Spectro version of Rover is a well-rounded resonator that performs adequately throughout the early to mid-game, even though it lacks healing capabilities.

C Tier Resonance

Yangyang Character

  • Lingyang – Lingyang is a below-average DPS resonator that struggles against better competitors. While he can do decent damage, he is not a worthwhile investment.
  • Yangyang – Although formidable early on, Yangyang loses her edge once players acquire Yinlin, Zheshi, or improve Mortefi and Sanhua. She offers damage buffs but is outclassed by other characters.
  • Chixia – Chixia is reliable but unremarkable, providing mediocre DPS that neither excels nor disappoints.

D Tier Resonants

Taoqi Character

  • Taoqi – Taoqi is subpar among sub-DPS characters, with complex gameplay mechanics and weak shield/damage offerings.
  • Aalto – Aalto is a niche character that enhances aero damage for resonators like Jiyan, but lacks overall efficacy beyond that role.
