“The Pokemon TCG introduced Stellar Tera-type cards with the release of Stellar Miracle, adding an exciting twist to the traditional Tera typing. This new type was inspired by the Scarlet & Violet DLC.”
The Stellar Pokemon cards possess immense power and function similarly to the Crystal Pokemon cards from the e-Card series. However, there are variations in their strength, which is why we have provided a ranking for them.
“Below is a ranking of all Stellar Tera-type Pokemon cards, taking into consideration their competitive viability, move pool, and potential for TCG players.”
Cinderace ex (018/102)
Cinderace ex (018/102) Pokemon card.
Despite the excitement among Pokemon TCG fans for the Galar Fire-type starter receiving attention in the Stellar Miracle release, the move set and competitive potential do not quite meet their expectations.
With the help of translations from PokeBeach, we can understand the mechanics of this card in a match. Its first attack, Flare Strike, is capable of dealing 280 damage, making it possible to defeat most enemies in one hit. However, it does have a one-turn cool-down period.
In addition to this, Cinderace ex also possesses Garnet Volley, a move that inflicts 180 damage on an opposing Pokemon. This can prove beneficial for taking out Pokemon on the bench and bridging the gap between using Flare Strike.
While this Cinderace card is capable of dealing substantial amounts of damage, it lacks any utility Abilities or special Attacks with added advantages like those found on other Stellar Tera-types in the game. Though by no means a poor card, it is not outstanding either – and its appearance is quite impressive.
Terapagos ex
Terapagos (088/102) Pokemon card.
While many may argue that Terapagos should be ranked first among the best Stellar Pokemon, it must be noted that this card can already be countered with ease despite being recently released.
Terapagos ex relies heavily on Benched Pokemon to inflict substantial damage, utilizing the Attack Unified Beatdown which deals 30 damage for each Benched Pokémon.
Crown Opal inflicts 180 damage and protects your Active Pokemon from all damage from non-Colorless Basic opponents during the next turn.
The introduction of Crown Opal is a significant development, as having access to damage blocks is always beneficial. However, its impact may be limited due to the presence of Pokemon such as Zeraora in Stellar Miracle. This Pokemon gains more power based on the number of Benched Pokemon the opponent has, which puts Terapagos in a precarious position.
2. Galvantula ex (033/102)
Galvantula ex (033/102) Pokemon card.
One of the most highly anticipated releases with Stellar Miracle is the Galvantula ex Pokemon card. Despite being underrated in the community, this ‘mon boasts impressive power.
Charged Web inflicts a base damage of 110 for a mere 2 Energy. Additionally, if the opposing Pokemon is an Active Pokemon ex or Pokemon V, Charged Web will cause an additional 110 damage.
In addition to its other abilities, Galvantula ex possesses the Attack Fulgurite, which inflicts 180 damage and prevents the opponent from using Items on their next turn. However, the drawback is that Fulgurite can only be used after discarding all Energy.
Despite the implementation of a strong Energy tax, Galvantula ex remains one of the most impressive Pokemon cards in the current Stellar Tera line-up.
1. Lapras ex (019/102)
Lapras ex (019/102) Pokemon card.
Upon its reveal, Lapras ex was quickly deemed “OP”by the TCG community, and it’s not hard to understand why. The card boasts an impressive combination of raw strength and flawless Attack coordination.
The Power Splash Attack can be used with just 1 Water Energy and deals 40 stacking damage for each Energy card attached.
In addition, there is also Larimar Rain, which enables players to examine the top 20 cards of their deck, attach any Energy cards they find to their Pokemon in any way they choose, and then shuffle their deck.
Having access to Deck-searching Attacks and Abilities is crucial in a Pokemon TCG match, as being able to quickly search through 20 cards can completely alter the game. The combination of these two powerful abilities makes Lapras ex the top choice for a Stellar Tera-type Pokemon card in the game.
