Burgage Plots have two methods for upgrading. The initial way is to upgrade the building to a higher tier, which will result in an increase in both size and living standards. This is primarily done to advance settlements to the next size, as varying sizes of Burgage Plots are necessary for a village to become a town.
The alternative method to enhance the plot is by incorporating extensions. These come in different types, permitting the townspeople to donate materials and resources without having to visit specialized buildings. The only requirement is that the plot must be of sufficient size to accommodate an extension.

The Vegetable Garden is a valuable addition to the Chicken Coop as a reliable source of early food. When added to a Burgage Plot, it ensures a steady supply of food in the early stages of the game, freeing up time for you and your citizens to pursue more intricate and profitable activities.
Tailor’s Workshop: The Tailor’s Workshop is incredibly useful and is arguably the most impressive Burgage extension in the game. The ability to switch between product types is crucial as it allows Lords to first provide for their people and then switch to producing expensive goods for export, resulting in a profitable outcome.
Blacksmith’s Workshop: While it may not be essential in the early stages of the game, as the settlements on the map grow and expand, conflict becomes more likely. This is where the Blacksmith’s Workshop becomes crucial, providing the militia with affordable weapons instead of relying on expensive imports.
