Top Weapons in The Rogue Prince of Persia

Although The Rogue Prince of Persia offers only eight weapons to choose from, deciding on just one can be a challenging task. As with most roguelike games, you usually have to make do with the hand you are dealt; however, it is always wise to be on the lookout for the most powerful weapons in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Broadsword

Despite its high DPS, the Broadsword is known for being one of the slowest weapons. Its two-handed design allows for a diverse range of attacks, but it is not recommended to rely solely on hacking and slashing as faster enemies can easily exploit this tactic.

Despite its raw power, the Broadsword can be even more effective if you time your combos or incorporate kicks into your attacks. This makes it an extremely powerful weapon.

Royal Sword

The Royal Sword is a highly agile weapon, on par with the initial Double Daggers weapon. In situations where you struggle against a large group of foes, the special attack can be utilized to unleash powerful combinations.

The Royal Sword is known for its fast attacks, which can quickly stagger enemies in general use. Additionally, its final attack is quite powerful. When considering the speed of each weapon, the difference is usually negligible. Ultimately, preference will depend on individual play style.

Stride

The Falcata is undoubtedly the most powerful weapon. It lies between the Royal Sword and the Double Daggers in terms of strength. While it may not deal as much damage as the Royal Sword, it compensates with its fast attacking speed. But what truly sets the Falcata apart is its unique effect. Each time it strikes, its damage increases by 10% for 3 seconds. This can stack up to 30 times, resulting in an unimaginable amount of damage.

Despite the excessive damage, it is unnecessary for the majority of your runs. Additionally, you possess a devastating special attack that unleashes a lethal slicing combo.

Strength

The Tabar may not be the fastest weapon, but it boasts the highest damage output. Even if the DPS for all weapons at a certain level is equal, the Tabar is still comparable to the quickest options due to its significant damage output with each strike.

Nevertheless, with the Tabar, you have the ability to experiment with its impact – the final strike of the combo stuns nearby foes. You could attempt to strike just beyond the enemy’s range until you reach the concluding portion of the combo, effectively stunning them. This provides a more secure approach to handling opponents.

With its high damage and the boss’s quick damage window, this weapon is particularly effective against bosses. It is likely to be your go-to weapon when facing Berude for the first time, as faster weapons are not as efficient in dealing damage. However, its effectiveness diminishes in later stages like the Garden or the Tower of Oblivion.

Despite my personal preference for the Falcata, the decision to choose the other weapons ultimately rests on your own liking. The majority of these weapons have minor variations, and your combat abilities play a significant role in determining their effectiveness.
