ChoA’s Untold Struggles After Leaving AOA Unveiled — ‘I Was Really Lost About What to Do with My Life’

During a recent conversation with singer Sung Si-kyung, former AOA member ChoA discussed her life after leaving the popular girl group.

The dialogue was recorded and shared on Sung Si-kyung’s YouTube channel, featuring a meal at a restaurant in Seongsu-dong and providing viewers with an honest look into ChoA’s present circumstances.

ChoA disclosed the details of her current situation when questioned.

“I’ve been preparing properly for my album while also doing YouTube. I felt like I hadn’t prepared my albums properly, so I’m working on that.”

Additionally, she expressed her enjoyment of drinking and listening to music, recalling memories of her younger days.

In contemplation of her feelings, ChoA confessed:

“I’ve been feeling really down lately. Even after coming back, there’s no stable position for me. It’s not like I’m going to act after being an idol. So I was really lost about what to do with my life.”

ChoA also mentioned her passion for songwriting and composing, stating her eagerness to explore these areas further.

“What I’ve recently realized is that it’s very attractive for an artist to tell their own story through lyrics.”

Her role as a main vocalist in AOA and the challenges of aging in the industry were also subjects of concern for her.

Sung Si-kyung advised ChoA to release songs at a faster pace, stating that it could aid her in discovering clarity and direction in her musical career.

In recent news, ChoA, a former member of AOA, has returned to the entertainment industry after taking a three-year break to address her mental health struggles.

ChoA bravely shared her hardships on the show “On & Off,”discussing her battle with sadness, insomnia, and exhaustion. She revealed a surprising fact about using facial cleanser as body wash while she was at her lowest point, thinking she needed to lighten her complexion to match her bleached hair. Despite her struggles, she ultimately learned to be independent and has successfully conquered her mental health problems.

In 2020, ChoA joined Great M Entertainment, marking her comeback to the industry after departing from AOA in 2017 due to mental health issues. The agency expressed their enthusiasm in collaborating with her and encouraged fans to show their support for her upcoming projects.
