The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul was the venue for Apple TV+’s “Pachinko 2″ press conference on August 23rd. Notable guests such as Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, Jung Eun-chae, and Kim Sung-kyu were present to share their insights and experiences regarding the project.
In her younger years, Kim Min-ha portrays the character of Sunja, who opted to live as an outcast in order to maintain her dignity.
Kim Min-ha remarked, “The events of Season 2 occur seven years after Season 1. I carefully considered how to portray the passage of time in an authentic manner.”
She expressed, “As my children grow and my bond with my sons strengthens, I have reflected on the power of maternal love,”emphasizing the importance of family dynamics.
Additionally, the narrative of “Pachinko”centers around a love that is deemed taboo and spans across Korea, Japan and the United States. It follows a journey filled with poignant accounts of conflict and harmony, romance and separation, and success and condemnation. Season 2 resumes seven years after Season 1, beginning in 1945 Osaka, and delves into Sunja’s (Kim Min-ha) determination to safeguard her family amidst the looming threat of World War II. Each Friday, new episodes will be released on Apple TV+ until October 11th, starting with the premiere on August 23rd.
