On May 12, in a poignant display of love and remembrance, Barbie Hsu‘s mother shared a touching message on social media, accompanied by a family photograph.“This year’s Mother’s Day brings sadness, ” she expressed, “as my son-in-law, Koo Jun-yup, deeply misses Barbie and seems to be growing thinner with each passing day.” She went on to commend her other son-in-law, Mike, for his unwavering support, stating, “I am thankful for my caring daughters.”

She further revealed, “My daughter, Dee Hsu, created an AI video tribute of Barbie after I expressed my desire to hear words of congratulations.” Expressing gratitude for the support, she added, “I sincerely appreciate the celebrities and fans who keep Barbie’s memory alive with their kindness.”

“I have to remain resilient. Though recovery will take time, I believe brighter days are ahead, ” she stated, underlining her determination to stay strong in the face of adversity.

Tragically, Barbie Hsu passed away from pneumonia while on a family vacation in Japan on February 2. Following her cremation, her remains were returned to Taiwan for further familial support.

Koo Jun-yup publicly grieved her passing, and a farewell ceremony was held 42 days later on March 15 at Jinbaoshan Memorial Park—chosen as her resting place in accordance with Koo’s wishes for a memorial site he could regularly visit.

Recent reports from April 4, highlighted by Chinese media sources like Sohu, revealed that “Koo Jun-yup has lost around 12kg and is filled with sorrow daily.” Friends noted that Barbie’s younger sister and her family have extended invitations for weekly dinners to provide him solace: “Koo is devoid of family in Taiwan and is experiencing profound loneliness, ”stated an acquaintance, “so her family is committed to caring for him during this challenging time.”

In spite of the ongoing heartache, Koo Jun-yup continues to remain close to Barbie Hsu’s family, honoring her legacy through his unwavering love and devotion.
