Some people alleged that the group’s relationship was not as strong as fans perceived it to be, and there were also allegations of one member behaving like a “bully.”This issue is currently sparking heated discussions on K-pop forums.

Netizens have brought to light several videos showcasing the dynamics among NewJeans members. These clips reveal that Hyein, the youngest member, has been consistently excluded and ignored. During live streams, Hyein can often be seen keeping her distance from the rest of the group and appearing reserved. Despite her age, Hyein is often overlooked and appears uncomfortable with the lack of acknowledgement from her fellow members.

Although Hyein joined NewJeans after the other four members, Minji, Haerin, Hanni, and Danielle, had already been training together at Source Music, she quickly formed a close bond with them. Despite being the newest member, Hyein stands out within the group due to her impressive height and unique aura.

Despite being a cherished member of the group, Hyein has been observed by fans to be under pressure regarding NewJeans’ overall concept, resulting in forceful performances. Due to health problems, Hyein has not been able to take part in promotional activities for the double singles “How Sweet”and “Supernatural”, causing NewJeans to function as a quartet. This has only fuelled speculations of Hyein feeling excluded by her fellow members.

Despite rumors of conflict within the group, Minji has been labeled as a “bully”due to accusations made against her. One notable incident involves Minji allegedly showing disrespect towards Hyein’s mother. On July 12, 2024, during the pre-recording session for their performance of “Supernatural”on Music Bank, Hyein’s mother visited the set and kindly prepared food for the members. According to reports, Minji declined to eat the fruits that were prepared by Hyein’s mother.

A fan account dedicated to the popular brand NewJeans shared a moment where Hyein inquired about the fruit Minji’s mother had sent. Despite not eating the peaches and watermelon from Hyein’s mother, Minji later purchased a watermelon for herself. When Hyein asked if the fruits from her mother were not tasty, Minji simply responded, “No, you guys should enjoy it.”

During a group livestream, a contentious moment arose when Hyein was playing with gift wrapping paper. Minji then snatched it away and casually tossed it aside, displaying a dismissive demeanor.

Minji’s impatience with the group was not limited to just one instance. On another occasion, she reprimanded Haerin for laughing during a live broadcast, causing an uncomfortable atmosphere for the rest of the group.

As a consequence, Minji has faced scrutiny for allegedly taking advantage of her position as the eldest member of the group and has been accused of mistreating the younger members. Despite some fans defending her and claiming that these incidents are not indicative of bullying, there are ongoing rumors of discord within NewJeans and ongoing criticism towards Minji’s actions.
