Yoo Jae-suk & Lee Kwang-soo Attend Kim Yeon-kyung’s Touching Retirement Ceremony for Volleyball Player

The Korea Volleyball Association organized the KYK Invitation 2024 volleyball game at Jamsil Sports Complex Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on June 8th. This event was held to honor and celebrate Kim Yeon-kyung’s retirement from the national volleyball team.

During her retirement ceremony following the match, Kim Yeon-kyung expressed, “Although I tried to hold back my tears, I couldn’t help but feel emotional. Representing my country while playing volleyball has been a dream of mine since childhood. As I reflect on my career, many thoughts flood my mind. I am truly grateful to everyone from the bottom of my heart.”

At the stadium, many well-known figures, including Yoo Jae-suk, Song Eun-yi, PD Na Young-seok, writer Kim Dae-joo, and actor Lee Kwang-soo, were seen showing their support for Kim Yeon-kyung.

Last month, Kim Yeon-kyung was a guest on SBS’s “Whenever Possible”where Yoo Jae-suk made a promise to attend her final match. She reminded him of his previous promise to watch her play, to which he explained that he was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts and instead went to IU’s concert. In response, Kim Yeon-kyung invited him to her retirement match.

Yoo Jae-suk fulfilled his promise to attend Kim Yeon-kyung’s retirement ceremony by appearing at the stadium with Lee Kwang-soo. The three of them, along with Kim Yeon-kyung, also collaborated on Netflix’s upcoming 2022 entertainment program “Korea No.1”.

Furthermore, Jung Ryeo-won and Park So-dam, who are close friends of Kim Yeon-kyung, made an appearance at the stadium.
