Tower of God Season 2’s Workshop Battle Arc: A Sneak Peek at Opening and Ending Sequences

The ending video for Tower of God Season 2 features watercolor-like illustrations, predominantly abstract in design. Notable references, including the symbols of Emile and Jahad, appear throughout, but the imagery remains mostly fluid and amorphous during the sequence.

The video concludes with a scene of a figure standing atop a spire, seemingly encircled by floating rock-like objects. The television cut of the “Falling Up” ending theme plays as the animation unfolds. This visually stunning ending video was directed by the award-winning animator and videographer Tarafu Otani at Onakama Studio, where Otani is also responsible for storyboarding and animation for the season.

Kazuyoshi Takeuchi serves as the chief director for the new season, while Kei Suzuki has stepped in as director, replacing Takashi Sano at The Answer Studio. The first season was animated by Telecom Animation Film. Erika Yoshida returns to oversee the series scripts, co-writing with Takeshi Miyamoto and Riuju Yoshizaki. Miho Tanino also reprises her role in character design, joined by Seigo Kitazawa and Isamitsu Kashima, with Kitazawa serving as the chief animation director.

The season premiered in July 2024, highlighting the anime’s Return of the Prince Arc, which concluded with its 13th episode on Sunday, September 29. NiziU performed the arc’s opening theme “Rise Up” and the ending theme “Believe.” Crunchyroll is streaming the series internationally as it airs weekly in Japan, reaching audiences in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories. Numerous dubs, including an English version, are currently in production.

Season 2 continues the television anime adaptation of author and illustrator SIU‘s original manhwa series of the same name. The inaugural season debuted in April 2020 as part of the Crunchyroll Originals lineup, which features series co-produced by Crunchyroll and WEBTOON. Other notable manhwa adaptations, such as The God of High School and Noblesse, were also included in the original slate.
