Tower of God: Bam’s Biggest Challenge in Season 2 Episode 3
Episode Recap
The third episode of Tower of God season 2 began with Ja Wangnan and Nia in their room, where Nia discovered a deck of cards in one of the drawers. The focus then turned to Mule Love and the Chief Test Director, who advised Love not to let personal grudges affect their actions. Despite the Chief Test Director’s attempts at childish tactics, Love remained steadfast in their refusal.
After the initial incident in Bam and Yeon Yihwa’s room, the attention turned to Ja and Nia who invited Arkraptor, Kang Horyang, and Miseng to their room for a game of cards. However, upon arrival, they found Miseng chatting with a mysterious woman. Arkraptor immediately questioned the whereabouts of Goseng, clearly wary of the woman’s motives.
In Tower of God season 2 episode 3, he instructed the woman to leave and then warned Miseng not to eat the candy. This caused Miseng to burst into tears just as Goseng returned. The six of them then went back to Ja and Nia’s room to play card games together. Afterward, Horyang and Miseng left to prepare for bed while Goseng contemplated the idea of leaving the tower and living together as a group before eventually leaving herself.
That night, Ja and Nia were determined to pass the test before going to bed. However, the remotes they were given suddenly began ringing, signaling the start of their test, The Trustworthy Room. In this test, teams of seven or players were required to secure six rooms by selecting a leader and gatekeeper for each room using their remotes. The leader had the ability to recruit allies and steal rooms, and any allies or rooms acquired by the leader’s allies would also be transferred to them.
In episode 3 of Tower of God season 2, it was revealed that gatekeepers are only able to possess rooms, and rooms can only be obtained from gatekeepers. Leaders must transfer ownership of captured rooms to their allies and appoint new gatekeepers for each room in the same manner. However, leaders are unable to also serve as gatekeepers. In order to enlist allies, both the leader’s connector and the ally’s connector must be inserted into the remote before pressing the blue button.
Transferring rooms follows a similar procedure, except the gatekeeper’s connector is used instead of the ally’s and the red button must be activated. The remotes also serve to secure the captured rooms by locking and unlocking them. It is necessary for at least one team member to remain in each room at all times with a remote, and the designated sixth room for any team to capture is Room 608, which is discovered to be Bam and Yeon’s room. A team can secure a victory by acquiring six rooms and having a total of seven members.
In episode 3 of Tower of God season 2, Love clarified that the rules applied to all participants, including Bam who would also have his own set of rules. Love’s connector, which held the roles of both himself and Yeon, was in his possession. If Bam could successfully take Love’s connector and Yeon’s room, or if the number of remaining test takers dropped below seven due to fighting, he would emerge as the winner. And so, the test commenced.
Goseng appointed Miseng as the gatekeeper of their room and instructed her not to open the door for anyone else. Meanwhile, Prince decided to leave Rapdevil behind while he went out. In Bam and Yeon’s room, Yeon tried to prevent Bam from leaving by using force, but Bam effortlessly stopped her with his special ability. As he prepared to leave, Prince appeared at the door, but was also quickly defeated by Bam’s same ability.
Tower of God season 2 episode 3 continued with Miseng being approached by the same woman as before. While Horyang stood guard in their room, Arkraptor went to protect Miseng. As he pounded on the door and had flashbacks of his daughter being taken away, Miseng finally answered and explained that Goseng was preventing her from opening the door. Despite being scared of being alone, she asked Arkraptor to stay with her.
Nevertheless, the old woman persisted and approached Arkraptor, attempting to persuade him to team up with her against Miseng and Goseng. Arkraptor refused and instead launched an attack, marking the beginning of the exam’s first real battle. Meanwhile, Nia and Ja remained in their room until Goseng appeared. Goseng then offered them her connector, expressing that she was motivated by Ja’s assurance and wished to continue collaborating with him in the same manner.
In Tower of God season 2 episode 3, Kim Lurker informed Prince that Rapdevil had been killed and they were approached by two other test takers asking to join their team. Meanwhile, Goseng and Ja were reunited with Arkraptor and were able to enter Miseng’s room. Prince and Kim later returned to their own room, seemingly confirming Rapdevil’s death. The focus then shifted to Bam, who had discovered Love.
During their conversation, Love brought up how Karaka, a potential Slayer candidate, had successfully passed the test by either murdering a designated Regular, assisting a Regular in passing an exam, or causing all other participants to fail. Love then argued that since these methods blatantly disregard the rules of the exam, he saw no reason to regard Bam with respect if he himself did not follow the rules.
In episode 3 of season 2 of Tower of God, Love introduced a game where Bam had to catch his connector before it was thrown from one baseball glove to the other. Bam was given three attempts, and if he failed to catch it even once, he would be considered a failure. However, Love also mentioned that if Bam decided to give up before exhausting all his attempts, he would still be allowed to continue climbing the tower with the other test takers. Love also warned that he may interfere and potentially harm Bam, but Bam was unfazed by this.
After their conversation about the reliability of their new teammates, Prince and Kim shifted their attention back to Bam and Love. The two closely observed each other’s tactics, strategizing for their future encounter. The episode concluded with Love appearing to have the upper hand over Bam, while Kim seemed to be scheming something against Prince.
