Tower of God: Season 2, Episode 9 – Opening Events: Beniamino Cassano’s Introduction and Kang Horyang’s Past Revealed

Khun starts off Tower of God season 2 episode 9 by conversing with Emile about Baam’s situation. While he ponders over her answer, Apple reaches out to him and reveals that she has located the Devil of the Right Arm. With the Workshop Battle approaching, Khun seizes the opportunity to hunt him down and bring him in.

In the meantime, Baam and his companions come across a picture that bears a striking resemblance to their teammate Kang Horyang. Kang immediately identifies the person in the picture as “Cassano”and shares that it is Beniamino Cassano, also known as “The Devil of the Right Arm,”who they have a shared history with.

During their childhood, they were left behind in the Midden Area and eventually ended up being sold to the Workshop. Growing up as test subjects, their fate was to become living weapons. Despite these circumstances, they were able to form a strong brotherly bond. Ms. Sophia, a compassionate research assistant, gave them the names Beniamino Cassano and Beniamino Ilmar (Kang Horyang).

In the end, they were selected to be the initial Living Ignition Weapons of the Tower, a process in which they were infused with a soul’s Shinsu to transform into weapons. A portion of a devil was embedded within both of them, with Kang receiving the right side and Cassano the left.

Despite Sophia’s sudden disappearance, they continued to struggle through difficult lives until Kang crossed paths with Haedon while being transported and joined the Tower as a regular. As he climbed, Kang earned the moniker “Devil of the Right Arm”and eventually heard whispers of someone who bore a striking resemblance to him on the 20th Floor.

Despite calling himself the “Devil of the Right Arm,”Kang realizes that this person is actually Cassano and that he has come to the Tower in search of him, despite using his left arm instead.

Prior to Kang making a suggestion to go find him, Wangnan suggests that they all go together. The entire group agrees to this plan and they make the decision to meet Cassano the following day.
