Tower of God Season 2 Sparks Backlash from Fans as a Slap in the Face

Despite arriving early this summer, Tower of God Season 2 has not been having a good time and has faced constant criticism from viewers.

Despite a four-year wait, Tower of God Season 2 was met with high levels of anticipation and excitement upon its release this year. Due to a global shutdown and a change in studios, the Shonen anime was delayed significantly, but fans were thrilled to finally continue their journey into the titular tower.

Despite its potential, this particular anime show has failed to achieve high rankings for the year. Numerous criticisms regarding its subtitles and animation quality have sparked a backlash against the current season.

According to a Reddit thread, the creators of the Tower of Gods anime adaptation have made significant changes or even completely removed every single interesting scene. This has resulted in a lack of tension and direction in the story and a rushed script. The disappointing treatment of such a high-quality series is unacceptable.

The initial post describes the episodes as a blatant disrespect towards both the original creator S.I.U. and the current fan base, and many people share this sentiment.

According to the top response, this season’s art-style lacks originality and fails to capture any sense of mystery, with subpar animation. Many viewers, including the second commenter, are left feeling bored and unimpressed. They also agree that the anime is not doing justice to the best part of Tower of God.

Upon reading the comments, one person pointed out that the story can be difficult to keep up with as the author frequently introduces and removes characters. It is often apparent that the author, S.I.U., is uncertain of the direction of the story, which may be charming in manhwa format but could pose a challenge when adapting it into an anime.

Despite the inherent narrative issues, season 2 has shifted its focus to Ja Wangnan instead of Bam, whom we were introduced to in the previous season. However, the audience does not seem to have a problem with this change as more fundamental issues continue to arise.

Unfortunately, if this trend continues, it is possible that Season 3 may not be released. However, we will make sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, feel free to check out our recommendations for Terminator Zero and Dragon Ball Daima as alternative options for this year.
