On September 26, 2024, the highly anticipated Tower of God season 2 unveiled a promotional video for its upcoming Workshop Battle arc. Although the anime series has yet to disclose its episode count, this arc may serve as the concluding chapter if the series is structured as a two-cour (24 episodes).
Tower of God is based on the acclaimed manhwa series of the same name, created by SIU. The anime’s first season premiered in April 2020 and was animated by Telecom Animation Film. For the second season, there has been a studio transition, with The Answer Studio now handling the animation.
Tower of God Season 2 Promotes Workshop Battle Arc
The promotional trailer for the upcoming arc features Khun aiming a gun at Wangnan and other characters from Bam’s past and present teams. Additionally, the trailer highlights Rachel, suggesting a potential meeting between her and Viole (Bam) in the new arc.
The Workshop Battle arc is a competitive tournament set on the 30th floor of the Tower, taking place on a massive ship. Viole will be competing alongside Khun’s party, while Khun will join Viole’s team. This arc is set to begin with Tower of God season 2 episode 14, which is scheduled for release on October 6, 2024, at 7 am PDT and 11 pm JST.
Notably, the Tower of God anime series experienced a studio shift following its inaugural season, with The Answer Studio now taking charge, a studio known for its involvement in Shinkai Makoto’s A Garden of Words.
One significant change in this sequel is the directorial shift. Akira Suzuki has stepped in to replace Takashi Sano as the director, marking Suzuki’s debut role as an anime staff member and director for the sequel series.
What Has Happened in Tower of God Season 2 So Far?
The sequel series began by delving into Bam’s new identity, Jyu Viole Grace, who has aligned himself with the criminal organization FUG. Before progressing to the next level of the Tower, Viole encountered Wangnan and various players he needed to collaborate with, as ascending the Tower solo was not feasible.
Over time, Viole and Wangnan forged a strong bond, as did their teammates, creating a cohesive team that genuinely cared for each other. Meanwhile, Khun discovered that his former companion was alive and relentlessly pursued Bam until they met again at the Hand of Arlene.
Despite the reunion, Viole found it challenging to reveal his true identity and left Khun vulnerable to his group. However, following a resolution of conflicts, Viole requested to partner with Khun’s teammates in the upcoming Workshop Battle. After the turmoil, Khun was compelled to team up with Viole’s allies in the next competition.
