Tragic Death of TikTok’s Famous Dancing Engineer from Dengue Fever

TikTok’s popular “Dancing Engineer”passed away in August due to a viral infection and respiratory arrest.

At the age of 34, Jainer Moises Pinedo Vargas, also known as “TikTok’s Dancing Engineer,”passed away on August 18 due to respiratory arrest caused by contracting dengue fever.

On August 14, Vargas’ health declined. Despite being placed on a mechanical ventilator and receiving antibiotics, his condition rapidly deteriorated.

The rising star was infected with dengue fever after being bitten by infected mosquitos during his travels to Condorcanqui Province, Peru, leading to his fatal illness.

On August 1, the Dancing Engineer shared his final TikTok from his hospital room. Despite having only 20% energy, he encouraged others to join him in moving their waists and hips in his caption for the dancing video.

Vargas, a forest engineer by profession, gained widespread recognition in 2021 when he uploaded a choreography video of himself dancing to ‘No se’ by Explosion de Iquitos. As his popularity grew and he amassed hundreds of thousands of followers, he continued to share videos of himself dancing, often sporting a hard hat.

Despite ultimately succumbing to dengue fever, the TikToker was also found to have various other medical conditions. Along with pneumonia, which resulted in fluid buildup around his lungs, he was also diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, an uncommon type of cancer, by doctors.

Following his passing, Betty Vargas Garcia, the mother of Vargas, has requested assistance from the media in bringing her son’s body back to his hometown of Iquitos, Peru. “We require bureaucratic support to transfer my son to Iquitos. It is important for him to be laid to rest in his homeland,”she stated.

The saddened supporters of the Dancing Engineer turned to TikTok to express their heartfelt messages.

“One commenter expressed their condolences, stating, “May you continue to dance and bring joy until your last day as an engineer.”

“Another commenter wrote, ‘You were a dancing engineer who reached great heights. It’s hard to fathom that I am watching this video and you are no longer here with us.’”

This summer, TikTok’s Dancing Engineer was not the only star from the platform to pass away. In July, 10-year-old Bella Brave also passed away due to complications from a lung infection.
