The current focus on fifth-generation K-pop girl group tripleS is due to their recent disclosure of their living arrangements. While most idols typically reside in dormitories during their promotions, tripleS revealed that they have opted for a more independent lifestyle rather than the traditional dorm living.
The members have stated that they have the freedom to reside either in their family homes or in their own solo places.
“Though it’s so fun and enjoyable to get together and put our strength to promote, there are some realistic problems that come with it. So, during our non-promotional period, we are allowed to freely live where we want to.”
The unconventional lifestyle triggered both surprise and criticism from online users. In the end, tripleS member Kim Yooyeon issued an apology to fans.
“I thought about it a lot while writing it down. I felt apologetic and upset when I thought about what we said on Signal yesterday.”
“I hope you guys consider it as a vacation of sorts for me and you don’t think too much of it. When I move back into the dorms after one or two months, it will be shown on Signal too.
During non-promotional periods, I’ll be going with the members, whether it’ll be having lunch, dinner, or practicing. Don’t worry too much.”
On June 14, a forum was created by netizens to discuss the ongoing boycott of tripleS. The original poster (OP) shared a photo of a man avoiding member Sohyun at a fan meeting and also included tweets from frustrated K-netizens expressing their anger towards the man.

“P**verted f**ker, please act your age and wake up a bit. What can you do about it?”

“TripleS usually lives in the dorm, but this time, they said that the members who aren’t promoting can live in their own house
But the fans don’t want them to leave their dorms so they’re now boycotting the members who left the dorm.”
T-Aega usually lives in a dorm, but during this downtime, they announced that those who will live in the dorm will live there and those who will go to their own homes will go. They say they don’t like living outside the dorm, so they are boycotting members who leave the dorm… 🤮🤮 https://t.co/eCiKA4Ya1o
The writer also published scathing remarks online, urging a boycott.
“Don’t talk to them and don’t look at their face, just sit in front of the member but face the opposite direction, sit with your back turned against her.”
“My acquaintance is going tomorrow. I’ll ask if there really are people acting like that.”
“What about sitting with your back against them towards your second bias?”
“That’s good too. Anyways, don’t even look at those deserters, make it so obvious that even the members around can feel it.”
