It has been revealed that a member of tripleS is among the trainees from Source Music selected for the original debut team of NewJeans.
During a live stream earlier this year, tripleS member Gong Yubin held a live stream where she disclosed that she had been a trainee at Source Music in the past. She shared that she had trained there for approximately 7-8 months before ultimately signing with MODHAUS.
Yubin trained with NewJeans at Source Music and described her difficulties: “I cried almost everyday and my mental health was not good. Despite being a trainee under Source Music, she opened up about the struggles she faced and how she almost broke down in tears every day. She also revealed the negative impact it had on her mental health and how she frequently lost her motivation.
Despite the challenges she faced, her “inner self”grew stronger, leading to an improved mentality. As a result, she now cries less and has regained her determination. Under MODHAUS, Gong Yubin shares that she has become more dedicated and is actively pursuing her dreams with passion.
Netizens quickly stumbled upon a photo featuring the original eight-member debut team of NewJeans. The photo, shown below, showcases Haerin, Hanni, and Hyein on the left side. The fourth member, whose face is obscured by a smartphone, is speculated to be Yongseo, who was part of ILLIT before their debut.
Gong Yubin is the fifth member, while Ryu Han Bi is the sixth member. Before their debut as the maknae of NewJeans, Ryu Han Bi was signed under ADOR but ultimately left the group. She was known for her previous work as a child actress. Minji and Hanni are positioned next to her.

On June 21, tripleS’ seventh sub-unit, Glow, debuted with their single “Inner Dance.”The group is also currently preparing for the upcoming debut of their 12-member sub-unit, Visionary Vision (VV), scheduled for the second half of this year. This sub-unit will have a strong focus on dance and performance.

Presently, the sub-unit consists of Gong Yubin and Lynn, who were chosen by the company. The remaining nine members will be determined through fan voting, and the final member will be selected through an internal process.
