Troubleshooting PS5 Welcome Hub Not Showing Up Issue

PlayStation recently released a system update for PS5 in September 2024 that introduced the Welcome hub; however, this new feature is not visible to all users. What is the reason for this?

The Welcome hub replaces the former Explore hub, empowering users to personalize this new tab with widgets that display accessory battery levels, Trophies, console storage information, friends list, and more. Gamers can also set the hub’s background using pre-designed wallpapers or their own screenshots taken from the console.

Here’s an explanation.

Sony initiated the rollout of this feature to select PS5 users in the United States on the evening of Thursday, September 12.

The company detailed in a PS Blog post that it will “gradually expand support” to additional regions in the “coming weeks,” starting with PS5 owners in Japan. Following Japan, select European countries will receive access, culminating in a worldwide rollout.

As of now, Sony has not announced specific dates for the Welcome hub’s availability in other regions.

Party Share is another feature being released in phases on PlayStation 5 consoles. Over the next few weeks, users will progressively gain the ability to invite friends from any social media or messaging app to join their party voice chat, even if those friends are not already on PSN.

Additional features introduced with the September 12 update include personalized 3D audio profiles tailored for earbuds and headphones, enhancements to Remote Play for individual users, and adaptive charging for controllers, which is exclusive to PS5 Slim consoles and the upcoming PS5 Pro.
