Despite being widely reported by Korean media, the comment “BTS, kimchi and hanbok are three symbols of South Korea”was not originally included in the introduction at the 2024 Olympics. It was later added and edited by Korean media when covering news about their representatives at the event. In contrast, other nations only had their country names and basic details displayed on the screen without any additional introductions, leading some to question the authenticity of the Korean introduction.

The introduction by Korean media showing admiration for the global boy group may have included mention of BTS’s undeniable influence in the Korean entertainment industry and global market.
