Makoto and his allies are determined to protect the dignitaries, officials, and royals attending the Tournament by helping them evacuate the city, as they are causing chaos and posing a danger to both other humans and the city. The group hopes to gain the trust of these important figures by ensuring their safety during this tumultuous time.
As the showdown between Makoto’s disciples and the mutated Illumgand unfolds, they are able to ultimately defeat and take him down.
Makoto’s students defeat the mutated Ilumgand in Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 17
As Rona and Io discuss methods for suppressing the goddess’s power, mutations begin to affect Ilumgand and other humans in the city of Rotsgard.
The start of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 17 sees Ilumgand and several humans from Rotsgard city succumbing to mutations caused by Rona’s malevolent plans, as was previously uncovered.
Rona is revealed to have enlisted the help of approximately 50 other hyumans, aside from Ilumgand, to carry out her plans. Upon learning of the dire circumstances in the city, Makoto is informed by Eva and Luria.
Makoto first inquires about their willingness to join his cause to reclaim Kaleneon, and upon receiving their agreement, he ensures their safety. He then turns to Shiki and inquires about the potential of undoing Ilumgand’s metamorphosis. Shiki explains that it would be a challenging task and one he is not inclined to undertake.
Tomoe proposes helping the city and saving the humans, prompting Makoto to question whether he would still be willing to work with demons. Although Makoto initially plans to cooperate with them, he ultimately chooses to pacify the unrest without directly confronting the demons due to Rona’s betrayal.
The focus shifts to a conversation between Rona and Io, in which they delve into the current events in Rotsgard and how Rona manipulated Makoto.
Io further reveals that they have successfully transitioned from the prototype to the final version of the ring, which is capable of effectively suppressing the blessings of the goddess.
As a result of this advancement, they pledge to confront Limia’s protagonist, Hibiki, hinting at a forthcoming confrontation between humans and demons.
The Purple Coats engage in a confrontation with mutated Ilumgand while Makoto assists in the evacuation of the dignitaries.

Despite the Purple Coats, the Academy’s strongest forces, deploying a group of mages using all four elements and their efforts to identify the monster’s weakness, Ilumgand ultimately overwhelms and consumes them.
Shiki keeps Makoto informed about the city’s current state and in turn, Makoto assigns Shiki and Mio the responsibility of guiding his students to confront the mutated Ilumgand. They are instructed to offer assistance if needed.
Makoto and Tomoe suggest the evacuation of the royalties, dignitaries, and officials who are present at the Tournament. With the assistance of Luto, they are able to convince the crowd to evacuate.
Tomoe employs her teleportation skills to rescue everyone, except for the Gritonia Empire’s royal members who refuse to evacuate due to the chaotic actions of one of their nobles.
Despite the attempts of Gritonia’s king, prince, and Ilumgand’s father, they are unable to bring Ilumgand back to his senses.
As they continue on, they are suddenly ambushed by a mutated city monster. Despite Gritonia’s prince’s attempt to face it head on, Makoto comes to their rescue and learns that the prince is, in fact, a woman. With ease, Makoto defeats the monster and they continue on their journey.
In the 17th episode of season 2 of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, the closing events show Makoto’s students successfully defeat a mutated Ilumgand.
The final moments of episode 17 of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 focus on Makoto’s students as they face the challenge of defeating the mutated Ilumgand. Despite receiving assistance from Shiki and Mio, they struggle to overcome the monster’s regenerative powers and formidable strength, putting them at a disadvantage.
Ilumgand lets out a deafening roar that catches everyone off guard, except for Abelia who had predicted it. Unfortunately, her spell is unable to shield them all. In reaction, Abelia comes up with a strategy and, with the help of Shifu and Izumo, they are able to defeat the beast, although Abelia ends up sustaining injuries.
The episode ends with a scene showing Ilumgand’s amulet in ruins and burnt, which was the source of the mutation.
