Tving’s YouTube Channel Hacked: Steps Being Taken to Address the Situation

As reported by Sports Seoul on July 20th, the YouTube account of TVING with approximately 7.71 million subscribers, has been compromised by hackers.

Currently, most of the content on TVING’s official YouTube channel is related to Ripple Coin and there is also a short clip from the tvN drama “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun”. It seems that the hacker either deleted or set most of the content to private.

By providing a diverse range of original content, popular dramas, and entertaining programs, TVING has become widely recognized in the domestic OTT market.

A spokesperson for TVING informed Sports Seoul that they are aware of the issue and are working with YouTube to find a solution. They have assured that they are committed to restoring the channel as soon as possible.

The domestic entertainment industry and major YouTubers in Korea have been repeatedly targeted by foreign hackers. In April, the official YouTube channels of popular groups IVE, MONSTA X, and CRAVITY were also compromised.

At that moment, the agency announced, “We are presently collaborating with YouTube to address the hacking problem on the artists’ official channels. We are exerting all our efforts to promptly restore all content.”
