Despite the controversy surrounding the rapper’s recent DUI incident, many view tvN’s actions as a possible form of blacklisting against him. This has caused concern among BTS fans, especially with the group’s anticipated full-group comeback in 2025. Should Suga remain a member, the current situation may have a negative impact on BTS’s future promotional opportunities on major television networks.

Despite the increasing demands for Suga to depart from the group, HYBE has not yet issued a response. In South Korea, celebrities who have been caught driving under the influence often face severe backlash from the public, and some have even experienced a downfall in their careers.

Despite the controversy surrounding Suga, the fan community continues to stand by him. On the day of his police appearance, BTS’s fandom organized a support campaign for the idol, hanging banners outside of HYBE’s headquarters. Suga, once hailed as “the pride of Korea”for his role in expanding K-pop globally, is now causing conflict among the public.

Currently, Suga is fulfilling his duties as a public service worker and is expected to complete his service by June 2025.
