TWICE Member Jeongyeon Shares About Working at a Cafe During Her Hiatus + Fans Touched by Her Dedication

The latest episode of the “Investigator”was released on August 31. During the episode, artist and guest Kangnam revealed that he is the owner of a coffee shop. This revelation prompted Jeongyeon to share that she used to work as a barista, which surprised Kangnam.

Jeongyeon then reminisced about her experience with anxiety disorder, which ultimately resulted in her taking an indefinite hiatus. She shared that during that time, she took on a part-time job as a barista at her friend’s family cafe, working from 6 am to 4 pm.

Kangnam: “For real? That’s great news! You worked hard to get to where you are now. You went through part-time jobs, school, and auditions all at once? And now you’re a star. You should write a book!”

Kangnam: “Do you remember that time?”

Jeongyeon: “This is something I’ve never told anyone yet. When I had a panic attack, I had to take a break. And during the break, I worked as a barista at my friend’s coffee shop.”

Kangnam: “You did? You didn’t just stay at home. You worked.”

Jeongyeon: “I would go to the coffee shop at six in the morning and work till four in the afternoon.”

Kangnam: “Wow, you worked hard.”

The ONCEs responded to Jeongyeon’s disclosure and shared their amazement at witnessing her in action at a cafe.

  • “It’s great that you kept your mind busy with work at the cafe. I liked the idea that you didn’t give in to thinking at home.”
