Will TWICE Dahyun’s popularity continue to grow after being a member of the “Nation’s Girl Group”and will she join the ranks of Korea’s beloved “First Love”celebrities?
On May 13, several Korean media sources, such as topstarnews, announced that TWICE Dahyun had been chosen to play the leading female role in the Korean adaptation of the popular Taiwanese movie, “You Are the Apple of My Eye.”
This is a significant deal, especially since the movie has achieved great success in China and has gained popularity in other Asian countries as well.
On that very day, JYP Entertainment, the agency representing Dahyun, issued their response, stating:
“Dahyun has received an offer for the Korean adaptation of ‘You Are the Apple of My Eye’ and is currently reviewing it.”
If the offer is accepted by the star, Dahyun will portray the character of Shen Chia Yi, which was originally portrayed by Michelle Chen. She is a model student who excels in her exams and is admired by the boys in her class as their “first love.”
Despite her disdain for men lacking intelligence, she eventually grows close to the class troublemaker Ko Ching Teng (played by Kai Ko) and develops feelings for him.

The film will depict the 15-year journey of two characters, beginning in their school days and following them into adulthood, taking place between 1994 and 2005.
This news has sparked increased speculation about whether Dahyun will accept the role and solidify her position as the new “Nation’s First Love,”following in the footsteps of Bae Suzy and WJSN Bona.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that Dahyun will be making her acting debut in the upcoming independent feature film “Sprint”and is currently in the process of preparing for it.
Dahyun was born in 1998 and made her debut in 2015 as a member of the group TWICE, which also includes Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu.
The group gained the title of “Nation’s Girl Group”due to the immense love and success they received from their hit songs such as “CHEER UP,””FANCY,””TT,”and “Dance The Night Away.”
Furthermore, TWICE is extending its worldwide impact by embarking on a fifth world tour, titled “TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR ‘READY TO BE,”which will kick off in Seoul in April 2023 and include performances at stadium venues across the globe.
Their popularity will be sustained through their solo concerts at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Japan on July 13th and 14th, and at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo on July 20th and 21st, as part of their ongoing world tour.
Specifically, the group will make history as the first foreign female artist to hold solo concerts at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan on May 27th and 28th.
