On June 14th, the YouTube channel “Bam House”uploaded a new video titled “Is it a crime to have a crush on Nayeon?! The video features Nayeon, the captivating human who has the power to make everyone fall for her.”
Nayeon mentioned in the video that BamBam had a crush on her and revealed that he had reached out to her about it. She stated, “Bam contacted me at that point and apologized for mentioning me without my consent.”
During TWICE’s Jihyo’s episode, BamBam shocked Jihyo by admitting “I used to have feelings for Nayeon.” Jihyo couldn’t believe it and remarked, “You’re not afraid to speak your mind… You’re so genuine, BamBam.” This revelation instantly caught everyone’s attention.
Nayeon elaborated, “In situations like school or other places, it’s common to have a secret crush on someone. However, in my case, it wasn’t a secret. It was almost comical how obvious Bam’s feelings for me were to everyone. Whenever I entered the vocal room, I could feel everyone nudging him or teasing us. It was like our own form of entertainment during that time.”
BamBam admitted that he was very young at the time and faced criticism from some people. However, a few of his fans were able to change their minds by showing them pictures of him from that time, saying “He was just a kid! Can’t a child have a crush?”This made the critics realize that he was indeed just a young child and they stopped criticizing him.
Nayeon reminisced about the gossip surrounding crushes at JYP, remarking, “It was strictly prohibited for trainees to have feelings for or date someone. However, your situation was well-known to everyone, even the company staff!”BamBam appeared confused upon learning this.
BamBam shared that he was not aware of his feelings at the time, possibly because he was unable to speak Korean. As a young child, he believes that people may have just found him cute, but he remembers telling someone, possibly Jackson or Mark, very earnestly that he liked Nayeon. He suspects that he may have also confided in Dong-geun (BTOB’s Peniel), who likely found his confession endearing and shared it with others. However, BamBam was not aware of this at the time.
BamBam admitted, “At the time, I actually had a strong liking for Nayeon!”Nayeon was initially skeptical, thinking he was just joking around. However, something happened that made her question, “Is he being serious?”Although BamBam may not remember, Nayeon explained that as kids, they tend to enjoy the feeling of having a crush on someone rather than actually liking them. It seemed like everyone else thought the same way.
Nayeon recalled, “On our way home from the practice room, we passed by the alley and the crosswalk. I remembered that Young K was with us at the time. I realized that I had left my shoes behind in the practice room, so I exclaimed, ‘Oh no, I forgot my shoes!’ Without hesitation, you sprinted towards the building to retrieve them. I wanted to tell you it was fine, but you were already gone. I couldn’t help but wonder if Bam was being serious with his actions.”
When questioned about his feelings towards Nayeon, BamBam answered, “She always showed up in her school uniform after classes and had really full bangs. We became good friends quickly for some reason. I also recall her admiring me. You understand what I mean, right? When someone admires you, especially someone as pretty as her, you can’t help but be drawn to them. I thought I was hiding it well at the time, I didn’t think anyone knew. But why didn’t anyone tell me to stop?”
BamBam expressed, “I never wanted it to become a reality. I never believed it would happen anyway. It was just youthful infatuation! And I was content with just admiring you on my own.”
