After discussing Shion’s troubles, Rei comforts him with a kiss and they decide to officially start dating. Overjoyed, Shion accepts. Later at the dorm, Shion excitedly tells Kirito about his new relationship, prompting Kirito to ask if he plans on staying in the club now that he has achieved his goal.
The following day, Mao commends Shion for his hard work, causing him to extend his stay. However, Shion later expresses frustration to Kirito about Rei’s lack of response to his messages. On the day after, Shion visits the third-year classroom in search of Rei but encounters Rei’s friends – Jin and his group, who advise him to end things with Rei.
At first, Shion was unsure about the situation, but he soon comes to the realization that Rei’s intentions for becoming his boyfriend were to push him away from the film club. However, Shion’s feelings for Rei are still strong and he chooses to stay in the relationship in order to avoid going back to searching for a new boyfriend and to impress his middle school peers.
