Twin Star Exorcists Comes to an End, Leaving Fans Wanting More

After 11 years, Twin Star Exorcists has reached its conclusion. With the story now complete, fans have a straightforward wish.

For the past 11 years, Twin Star Exorcists has solidified its reputation as a dependable Shonen manga for those who appreciate young adult narratives with a touch of darkness. The plot centers around the main characters, exorcists by trade, who are destined to fulfill a prophecy that their offspring will become the most powerful exorcist of all time.

After its debut in October 2013, manga creator Yoshiaki Suteno concluded the series on September 4, 2024, with the release of Chapter 133. With the entire narrative now accessible to anyone, fans are eagerly anticipating something new: another anime adaptation.

Despite being adapted by the same studio responsible for popular anime series such as Bleach and Naruto, Twin Star Exorcists only ran for one season in 2016 and ended in 2017. Many fans believe that a second adaptation is warranted now that the source material has been fully revealed.

Many people, including myself, have expressed the desire for popular anime like Soul Eater and Tokyo Ghoul to receive a proper remake. However, the same can be said for this particular anime. One fan shared on Twitter, “Now the source material can be given the respect and faithfulness it deserves.”

Another person expresses, “Although I was not a fan of the anime, after reading the manga, I really hope it receives a complete remake. The manga is exceptional and deserves a better adaptation. Hopefully, if a remake ever happens, it will be done by Ufotable.”A third individual chimes in, “I couldn’t agree more. The manga is amazing and would benefit greatly from a remake by Ufotable in the future.”

Without a doubt, Ufotable, the production company behind Demon Slayer, would be an excellent option. With the highly anticipated Infinity Castle trilogy in the works, the studio will likely seek out additional significant projects. Could Twin Star Exorcists potentially fill this role?

As recommended, the one-season anime opted for a unique ending to conclude the series early, posing a challenge for Pierrot to produce a second season.

Considering the number of franchises that are currently coming to an end, such as Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia, this is as good a contender as any to take their place.
