Concerning Stalking Incident Involving Twitch Streamer MilkyPuff
On November 11, during a live stream from a train in Tokyo, Twitch streamer MilkyPuff experienced a distressing situation that captured the attention of her viewers. A man was observed giving her sidelong glances, raising alarm among her followers who suspected he was fixated on her. Initially, Milky remained skeptical about the situation. However, her apprehension grew when the individual began trailing her from one train to the next.
The situation escalated when the stranger entered the same train as Milky, positioning himself closely behind her while she continued her broadcast. Concerned viewers in the chat urged Milky to remain aware, labeling the man as a “pervert” and providing detailed descriptions of his appearance, including a distinctive blue hat. This interaction highlighted the critical role of community vigilance in potentially dangerous situations.
Milky expressed her discomfort, stating, “I got really freaked out because he wasn’t leaving the station like everyone else who got off the train.” As fears mounted, she turned to her viewers for a detailed description of the man, who she learned was wearing a blue hat. Milky realized that approaching law enforcement might yield little response, fearing that her concerns could be dismissed.
Determined to escape, Milky devised a clever plan. She feigned an intention to take the next train, which would be heading in a reverse direction, and at the critical moment, she exited the train just before the doors closed. “After the train came, I boarded and stood next to the doors. When he got on, I waited until I could hear the doors closing before sliding through and back onto the platform,” she recounted.
As she departed the scene, Milky risked a glance back at the man, locking eyes with him and waving goodbye as the train pulled away. “It was really scary because his eyes were locked on me,” she admitted, acknowledging the huge relief that accompanied her escape.
Fortunately, MilkyPuff emerged from this terrifying encounter unharmed, largely due to the alertness of her audience. Now, she aims to provide valuable guidance to others who may find themselves in perilous situations. “Stay in areas where there are people around if you feel unsafe, and take a taxi home if you notice someone following you, especially in Tokyo,” she advised.
This incident highlights a broader issue faced by women, particularly those in the public eye. Prominent female streamers such as SweetAnita, BrookeAB, and LilyPichu have also spoken out against stalking behavior, calling on platforms and law enforcement to take definitive action to protect users.
