Twitch streamer reacts to Nintendo after daughter cries over online game feature

A Twitch streamer’s child was incredibly upset, breaking down in tears when learning that Nintendo had terminated its online game feature.

Despite being a popular and successful American video game journalist and Twitch streamer, Jeff Gerstmann shared a heartwarming story about his 3-year-old daughter’s love for Nintendo games. He revealed that she was heartbroken upon learning that Nintendo had decided to discontinue its online game feature, which was announced to take effect in April 2024.

On April 8, Nintendo announced that the feature would no longer be accessible on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software. They also apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Despite this, Gerstmann did not hold back in his criticism of the company, as the news caused his daughter to break down in tears.

During his livestream, he shared that his daughter, who is not yet able to read, needed his assistance when she came across a message that prevented her from accessing Nintendo’s online game feature.

“Recalling the incident, Gerstmann explained that the bottom screen displayed an error message which read, ‘This service has been concluded, thank you for your understanding.’”

As a result, he had to inform his daughter that the feature had been removed permanently and she would no longer be able to use it. “I simply explained to her that she wouldn’t be able to do it anymore and she became very emotional,”he shared.

“Gerstmann exclaimed, “God-damn, sh**. F****** Nintendo,”expressing his frustration with the company and even calling them motherf******.
