TwitchCon Controversy: Streamer ‘Disgusted’ by Alleged Sexual Assault Incident During Live Stream

Twitch streamer Zenith has shared a troubling moment from her TwitchCon broadcast, in which she allegedly experienced sexual assault by another creator, leaving her feeling “disgusted.”

The recent TwitchCon San Diego event has ignited significant discussions on social media after multiple streamers reported harassment and even physical harm at the hands of fellow broadcasters.

Now, another streamer has come forward to recount her distressing experience at the convention. She posted a clip from her broadcast where she claims to have been sexually assaulted by a fellow Twitch streamer.

On Sunday, September 22, Zenith was streaming outdoors when she encountered another broadcaster, Zake. In a clip she shared online, Zake can be seen resting his head on her chest during what appeared to be a friendly moment. Zenith then shifts the camera to focus on her face, clearly shocked by an off-camera incident.

“Oh my god,” she exclaimed in disbelief. “Did Zake just cop a feel?”

“That’s a whole different thing,” Zake replied from off-screen, before urging her to look at her Twitch chat.

“Chat, look at her face,” he encouraged her. Zenith was heard gasping, replying, “Wow.”

“She’s just saying, ‘Wow,’” Zake continued. “They don’t know what happened.”

According to Zenith, Zake’s actions amounted to sexual assault during this unsettling encounter. In a tweet shared on September 25, she detailed how Zake had allegedly “motor-boated” her after he had rested his head on her chest, followed by grabbing her buttocks when he asked her to check her chat.

“I wasn’t going to post about it, but this situation makes me feel absolutely disgusting,” she expressed. “I’ve been haunted by this for three days and just can’t forget it. This was all within an hour of meeting each other. This is unacceptable.”

“Laughing is one of the biggest defense mechanisms,” she added. “In that moment, I had no idea how to respond. I dissociated and went into auto-pilot mode. I honestly couldn’t believe that this really happened.”

Zenith’s tweet went viral, amassing over eight million views and more than four thousand retweets as supporters rallied to express their sympathy for her.

In response to the events, Zake has issued an apology for his behavior in a tweet that has also drawn considerable attention.

“As many of you may know, I made a significant mistake on Sunday evening,” he stated. “I turned what was intended to be an enjoyable evening into a painful and traumatic experience for a fellow Twitch streamer. I crossed a boundary. I fully understand the gravity of my actions.”

“I am ashamed and truly, deeply sorry. Words cannot capture my regret, especially given the impact I have had on this streamer’s life,” he continued.

Zake further announced that he will quit drinking alcohol, seek therapy, and respect Zenith’s request to cease all communication with her.

This incident is one among several controversies that gained traction during TwitchCon, including an awkward encounter where a streamer from Kick kissed and licked Twitch stars nmplol and Wake Wilder during a meet-and-greet.
