Despite the fact that Stranger Things revolves around a close-knit group of adolescents and preteens on a mission to save the world, two of its members have never previously crossed paths.
Netflix’s popular original series Stranger Things will be concluding with one final season in the upcoming year.
The Hawkins gang, currently halfway through filming the fifth season, will center their efforts on defeating Vecna once and for all.
Despite the excitement among fans to see their favorite characters reunite on the small screen, one fan page noted that throughout the entire series, Will Byers and Steve Harrington have never spoken a single word to each other despite being part of the same friend group.

It is understandable that the pair did not interact during Season 1, given that Will was trapped in the Upside Down and Steve had not yet formed any connections with the group.
During Season 2, Will was not in control of his own actions as he was being controlled by the Mind Flayer. This caused him to feel isolated from his friends, while Steve formed stronger bonds with Will’s friends, particularly Dustin.
In Season 3, Steve’s and Will’s paths did not cross until the finale. Steve was busy battling the Russians alongside Robin and Dustin, while Will was with the rest of the group trying to identify the Mind Flayer’s host in town. However, they did not communicate with each other during the climactic showdown.
In Season 4, Will and Steve were pulled even further apart as they dealt with separate challenges. Will traveled to California to confront Eleven’s adoptive father, while Steve and the gang remained in Hawkins to battle Vecna.
In Season 5, Will and Steve must seize their final opportunity for a conversation, which is highly probable considering the need for them to rely on each other in the upcoming perilous battle.
Despite never speaking to Will, Steve has also not had any interactions with another member of the Byers family, his mother Joyce, as pointed out by one fan on Twitter (link to tweet).
However, another viewer joined the conversation and offered an explanation for why this specific interaction has never happened: “To be fair, he hasn’t had the need to do so. ‘Hi, Mrs Byers. I broke into your house with a baseball bat and used to bully your eldest son.’ He has redeemed himself and become the best character, but perhaps he and the Byers family need some space.”
