UFC sensation Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira has expressed his willingness to face off against Jake Paul as he considers becoming part of Dana White’s initiative to promote additional boxing matches.
Since entering the boxing arena, Jake Paul has taken on a notable number of Mixed Martial Artists making the switch. His boxing record boasts victories over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, and Mike Perry.
While he is currently preparing for a bout against Mike Tyson, the ‘Problem Child’ also has his sights set on UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira.
The Brazilian athlete, who has a solid boxing foundation, was called out by Jake Paul after his victory over Perry. In response, ‘Poatan’ has indicated that he is open to the matchup, and footage of his amateur bouts has emerged, generating increased excitement.
Now, at 37 years old, Pereira has hinted more strongly than ever that a fight could take place in the near future. “Honestly, man, I feel very good about this, I like boxing. I’ve wanted to fight in boxing for a while,” he shared with Kevin Iole when discussing the possibility of boxing again. “I’m going to release actually, in the next few days, video footage of me sparring with the best heavyweight boxer in Brazil.”

He added: “It’s an old video, but now I’ve improved a lot. Dana White made the announcement, and to be honest, nothing has been discussed between us and the organization. However, I believe a partnership is on the horizon for me.”
Jake Paul is training for his upcoming fight against Tyson in November but also plans to make his MMA debut in 2025.
According to PFL president Peter Murray, the Tyson fight marks Jake’s “finale” in boxing for a while. Thus, if the contest against Poatan occurs, it may take some time before they finally meet inside the ring.
