Despite the group of kids’ attempt at a prank, they quickly realized they had targeted the wrong house when they were met with a gun-wielding Sean Strickland, the former UFC middleweight champion.
Sean Strickland is known for being one of the toughest and most intimidating fighters in the world. Just imagine facing him while he’s armed with a handgun. That’s exactly what a group of teenagers experienced when they decided to play a game of ‘ding-dong ditch’.
Engaging in the act of knocking on a door or ringing the bell and quickly fleeing before the homeowner can answer has been a classic prank for years, but for Strickland, it held serious consequences.
On Instagram, the ex-UFC champion shared footage from his home security system capturing a car full of kids pulling up to his house at 1 AM. The group then proceeded to the side of his home, rang the doorbell, and quickly fled the scene.
Sadly for the tricksters, Strickland was not playing around and emerged from the shadows in a bathrobe, brandishing a firearm.
“Despite having a car and it being a Friday night, the individual in the video chose not to go out and try to obtain P. The poster then criticized the youth for having misguided priorities.”
The well-known mixed martial artist also delivered a message to anyone else daring or foolish enough to arrive unannounced at his residence during late hours.
“I only noticed the doorbell alert after… Just wanted to let everyone know that I receive some unusual packages at my house.”
It remains unclear whether or not the pranksters were aware that the house belonged to the UFC star prior to their arrival on the premises.
Despite his loss of the middleweight title via split-decision to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297, Strickland continues to be a prominent figure in the world of MMA.
Ever since then, he has engaged in a feud with boxer Jake Paul, going as far as to issue a “kill”threat during a potential fight between the two. Additionally, he gained widespread attention for his dominant victory against Rumble streamer Sneako in a highly-viewed sparring match.
He is slated to compete against Paulo Costa in the co-main event of UFC 302, which is his next scheduled bout.
