On August 24th, Uhm Jung-hwa took to her social media to share previously unreleased photos from a recent fashion shoot with a magazine.
The photographs depict Uhm Jung-hwa exuding confidence as she confidently dons a daring black see-through dress, exuding a captivating and alluring appearance.
Uhm Jung-hwa, who is 55 years old, impressed many with her stunning S-line figure. In the comments, Chun Woo-hee expressed her astonishment with the word “Amazing,”while her close friend Kim Wan-sun reacted with surprised emojis. Jo Kwon, who is Uhm’s junior, also responded with hearts.
In her interview with Singles magazine, Uhm Jung-hwa was questioned about the term that most accurately describes her. She replied, “I believe the phrase that suits me best is ‘I guess I’m a role model’.”
Despite there being talented senior artists in Korea, there has not been a consistent role model who embodies the sexy and powerful image I strive for. This has caused me to feel uncertain about the longevity of my music career. As a result, I have made it a personal goal to excel and become a role model myself. This term holds great significance and value to me.
Known for her distinctive stage presence, Uhm Jung-hwa stated, “I have always enjoyed this. I have always believed that it is my signature style.”
Uhm Jung-hwa has established herself as a pioneer in the K-pop industry, constantly pushing boundaries with her fearless approach. Despite her timid nature and tendency to worry, she reflects on her journey with amazement and acknowledges her ability to take on major challenges. She also credits luck as a factor in her success.
As Uhm Jung-hwa reflected on her musical journey, she acknowledged the challenges she faced in defining her musical identity. Each moment was a struggle and she constantly encountered obstacles that seemed insurmountable. In her pursuit to overcome these difficulties, she turned to Teddy, a producer at YG Entertainment, for guidance in creating her 10th album. After much contemplation and seeking assistance, her iconic song ‘DISCO’ was born. Despite facing vocal cord problems that temporarily hindered her ability to sing, Uhm Jung-hwa remained determined to overcome any future crises and find solutions to any challenges that may arise.
Recently, Uhm Jung-hwa expressed her gratitude for the impact her songs have had on her life. While the songs that hold special significance for her change with each album, she has found that “Ending Credit”has been the most meaningful. She is thankful for the opportunity to leave behind this song during a time when she felt lost. It is especially significant to her that people of all ages, including younger generations, can relate to and appreciate it as if it were their own personal story.
Additionally, she remarked, “The drama ‘Doctor Cha’ is another significant piece for me. It has provided me with the opportunity to progress further in my future endeavors.”
Uhm Jung-hwa discussed her plans for the future, stating, “I am still considering whether my next project will be an album, a film, or a drama. I am reflecting on my musical growth and carefully considering my options. If I do release a new album, I would like it to feature joyful and empowering tracks like ‘DISCO’ and ‘Festival’, while still maintaining a sexy vibe.”
