The “Keeping the Old Traditions” side quest in Diablo 4 is located in the Dry Steppes region. Northeast of the Jirandai city Waypoint, you’ll find a cliff you can climb. Once you do that, pick up the Lonely Offering to start the quest.
You’ll find the Lonely Offering just north of the Champion’s Demise dungeon.
How to solve Keeping the Old Traditions side quest in Diablo 4
Keeping the Old Traditions poses Diablo 4 players with a strange riddle that can be solved by emoting in front of a statue embedded in the wall. We have a complete rundown of what you need to do to complete this side quest:
- Make Keeping the Old Traditions quest your active mission.
- Head to the highlighted blue area on your map.
- Look for a large statue embedded in the wall.
- Use the Yes emote right in front of it.
- A chest will spawn nearby.

If you don’t find the Yes emote on your action wheel, open the wheel and click the Customize button to assign the emote to a slot. Diablo 4 has many quests that are solved by emoting, so you might have to do this often.
