In competitive shooters, equipping melee weapons often enhances movement speed. This principle applies to FragPunk, where speed bonuses vary based on the weapon chosen.
Players frequently debate which of the two melee options in FragPunk allows for superior speed. This article will clarify the fastest running strategies and the melee weapon that optimizes your speed.
How to Achieve Maximum Speed in FragPunk

Equipping any melee weapon increases your running speed. Both the Standard Blitzer and Standard Striker deliver a run speed of 3.7 m/s and a sprint speed of 4.9 m/s, making either weapon effective for maximizing movement speed.
Nonetheless, it’s important to note that various weapons offer distinct speed attributes. For instance, the Mad Dog-S submachine gun grants a run speed of 3.3 m/s and a sprint speed of 4.6 m/s. Conversely, the Resolver sniper rifle yields a slower run speed of 2.7 m/s and a sprint speed of just 4.0 m/s. Although these differences may seem small, they can significantly impact your gameplay, particularly during the critical early moments of a match.
Enhance Your Speed with the Melee Stab Technique

In addition to wielding the Blitzer or Striker, there is a trick to further increase your speed. When your melee weapon is equipped, you can press the alternative aim button to initiate a charged stab attack.
Releasing the stab command propels you forward. It’s not necessary to fully charge the stab—using it promptly allows for a quick lunge, after which you can immediately begin charging it again.
This technique effectively boosts your movement speed since charging the melee attack does not impede your sprint. This functionality seems advantageous and, if not intentional, could be subject to a future patch.
Remember to maintain pressure on the sprint button to maximize your speed with each stab. Notably, skilled players such as Zephyr can effectively use this technique even while cloaked, showcasing the tactical advantages this method provides.
