Helldivers 2 is experiencing a remarkable resurgence, achieving a significant milestone in player count shortly after its launch on Xbox. This development highlights the game’s growing popularity and the excitement surrounding its availability on new platforms.
Since its initial release over a year ago, Helldivers 2 has captivated players with its frenetic combat, a unique cooperative gameplay style, and an array of challenging enemies, including relentless bugs and robots. However, one of the most anticipated features over the past year was undoubtedly its release on Xbox, a request frequently echoed by the game’s community.
Record-Breaking Player Count Post Xbox Launch
According to the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, the total player count for Helldivers 2 has surged to an impressive 500, 490 players.

For perspective, the peak player figure for Helldivers 2 on PC had previously reached a maximum of 458, 000, which occurred during its launch in February 2024. In the subsequent months, data from Steam Charts indicated an average player count of approximately 33, 956. Thus, the recent milestone signifies a notable increase in engagement.

While Helldivers 2 is also available on PlayStation, the record-breaking player count exceeding 500, 000 just over a year post-launch is a significant achievement. This surge is primarily attributed to its recent Xbox release.
Additionally, the introduction of the Warbond battle pass, which features an array of Halo-themed weapons, armor, and gear, has further fueled interest and player engagement. Together, these developments are shaping a potential renaissance for this beloved chaotic adventure, attracting both new and returning players alike.
