For players of Destiny 2 who were unable to acquire a Skimmer during the Guardian Games in March, there’s good news: a new opportunity has emerged to obtain one via the Xurfboard.
This vehicle functions like a hoverboard and occupies the same gear slot as Sparrows. While its speed is comparable to that of Sparrows, the Xurfboard boasts superior maneuverability. Plus, riders can execute stunts, adding a fun element to your travels.
Previously, the sole way to secure a Skimmer was through purchasing a 2500 Silver bundle from Destiny 2’s Eververse store. Now, however, Bungie has introduced a new method for players to acquire this board in-game.
Acquiring the Xurfboard
The price of the Xurfboard is 97 Strange Coins.
As the name implies, the Xurfboard can be bought from Xur using 97 Strange Coins.
This amount is just two coins shy of the maximum limit, meaning you will need a whole stack of Strange Coins for the purchase. However, you need not worry—our guide on the most efficient ways to gather this mysterious currency should assist you.
Besides participating in Strikes and various PvP modes like Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and Crucible, be sure to check your Revenant season pass, as it offers multiple stages that reward you with Strange Coins. If you decide to take on the Trials, there’s an additional lure: a new Hand Cannon called Yesterday’s Answer.
If you find yourself unable to collect enough coins before Xur departs from the Tower during the weekly reset, don’t fret—you still have options. The Xurfboard will remain available every weekend with Xur until you make the purchase.
