Acquiring Gigantamax Gengar – Max Battles Overview
The exclusive method to obtain Gigantamax Gengar currently involves engaging in Max Battles. This G-Max variant of the original Ghost-type from Generation 1 made its debut during the second phase of Pokémon Go’s 2024 Halloween event, which takes place from October 31 to November 3, 2024, at 8 PM local time.
Unlike standard Raids, Max Battles are conducted in-person, meaning players cannot utilize Remote Raid Passes. Instead of appearing in regular Gyms, Gigantamax and Dynamax Raids will occur exclusively at designated Power Spots.
A group of up to four participants can partake in a Max Battle, with each Trainer allowed to utilize a team of three Pokémon. If your group faces difficulties against the Max Battle boss, up to 40 players can join the battle, divided into smaller groups of four or fewer.
Max Particles are necessary for entering a Max Battle, and they will only be taken from your inventory after successfully completing the raid.
