Ultimate Guide to Finding and Defeating Billy in Fortnite

Billy The Puppet from the Saw franchise has made his way to this season’s Fortnite island, introduced as part of the Fortnitemares 2024 event. To complete a quest and earn valuable rewards, players must track down and defeat this hidden NPC boss.

This Billy skin was launched in Fortnite on October 9, ahead of the eagerly awaited Halloween update, version 31.40. The initial set of Nitemares quests in Battle Royale presents a challenge that entails eliminating this character, who drops the new Boom Billy weapon upon defeat.

Here’s where Billy can be located, along with an efficient strategy for taking down the notorious Saw antagonist, which should take only a few moments.

Locating Billy

Billy The Puppet can be found inside the prominent white house located at Freaky Fields, situated at the lower-left section of the newly implemented point of interest that has replaced Reckless Railways. Enter through the front door and navigate to the back room where the TV displaying Billy’s face is located.

To summon Billy as an NPC boss, stand in front of the TV and hold the Interact button for a few seconds.

Once he emerges, prepare for an attack. It’s wise to have a weapon equipped from the surrounding loot and to eliminate any nearby players who might also be aiming to defeat him to prevent being taken out yourself.

To reach the house as quickly as possible, mark its position on your map while in the Battle Bus and land directly at the front entrance. If it’s too far, consider using a vehicle. You should be able to find and engage with Billy in about a minute or less.

Strategies for Defeating Billy

As soon as you release Billy from the TV, he will immediately start chasing and attacking you.

To take down Billy, be sure you have acquired at least one weapon aside from your default Pickaxe and have a sufficient supply of ammo. Attempting to fight him with just your Pickaxe will lead to a swift defeat due to his rapid movement and consecutive attacks, each dealing around 12 damage.

Fortunately, Billy’s health is notably lower compared to other NPC bosses like Doombot, Mysterio, and Emma Frost. You should be able to eliminate him in approximately 10 to 20 seconds of continuous fire, depending on your loadout.

Defeating Billy also rewards you with 20,000 XP for completing the Nitemares One quest titled “Find and Defeat Billy.” This contributes to your total XP needed for unlocking exclusive free Halloween rewards during the event.

To effectively fight Billy, consider moving backwards as soon as he spawns to keep out of his reach while repeatedly shooting for Headshot damage bonuses. Billy is among the more manageable bosses Fortnite has introduced; watch out for any other players nearby, who may pose a greater threat.
