Ultimate Guide to Locating Virtex Processors in Escape from Tarkov

Acquiring Virtex Processors in Escape from Tarkov can be a frustrating endeavor, especially for players aiming for the coveted KAPPA container during a wipe. These valuable components are notoriously scarce unless you are targeting specific maps. Players have reported going through numerous raids without a single find. To improve your chances, follow this comprehensive strategy on locating Virtex Processors effectively.

Optimal Locations for Finding Virtex Programmable Processors

The most efficient area for hunting Virtex Processors is Lighthouse. Although they can also be found in Reserve and The Labs, Lighthouse offers a greater number of spawn locations. Below are key areas to check:

Area
(Key Required) Merin Car in the parking area near seaside houses – Merin Car Key required to open the trunk of the Red/Merin Car.
Workbench in the USEC Cottage Garage.
(Key Required) Hillside House Key – Found in the Hillside House’s sink and under the TV.
Drug Trafficking quest lab by the chair.
Chalet: Common spawns include a box in the garage, near the kitchen table, by a dead body on the bottom floor, in a wooden crate outside the stairs, and a box in the attic.
Broken boxes in the Water Treatment Plant, primarily by the main gate and within Building One.
Green tent adjacent to technical supply crates.
(Key Required) Operating Room Key (OR) – Warehouse 1: Multiple spawns on tables inside the operating room.
Boxes tucked away in the corner of Warehouse 1.
Atop medical boxes in Warehouse 2.
(Key Required) WTP Storage Room Key: Several spawns within the Water Treatment Plant Storage Room.
On the plank and next to a projector in the projector room of Warehouse 3.
Broken crate near the railyard.

Focusing on the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is advisable, as over half of the potential spawns are located there, especially in Warehouses 1 and 2. Keep in mind that clearing out the Rogues before venturing inside is essential for a successful raid.

Tactics for Approaching the Water Treatment Plant

There are multiple strategies for accessing the WTP. You may choose to approach from the abandoned village and clear from Warehouses 3, 2, and 1, or start by the main road. Dealing with the GL Rogue by the main entrance and the mounted LMG Rogue located on Warehouse 1 is critical for safe passage.

Nighttime raids can make this undertaking more manageable, as the Rogues have diminished range and visibility. However, equipping NVGs can significantly enhance your chances of survival, albeit at an additional cost of approximately 120, 000 Roubles for a GPNVG.

If you spawn far from the WTP, consider looting the Chalet area, then extracting at Path to Shoreline. Timing is crucial, as players who reach the WTP after you may have already scavenged the area.

For those spawning by the shore, target the Merin car and focus on Warehouse 1 for maximum efficiency. In this scenario, Northern Checkpoint serves as a reliable extraction point. Be wary of players arriving before you, as they may take routes like Path to Shoreline or V-Ex.

It’s important to note that Lighthouse is often criticized as being poorly designed, with certain spawns like Southern Road, the shore near the Scav House, and the area bordering the shore across the resort placing players at a significant disadvantage.

Other Locations to Consider for Virtex Processors

If you’re skilled at navigating The Labs, it can also be lucrative; however, it only features a single spawn next to the robotic arm and table typically occupied by streamer loot.

As for Reserve, multiple spawns exist, necessitating keys such as RB-VO, RB-BK, RB-AK (or simply drop down from the third-floor window), and RB-ST to access others. Virtex Processors can also be located in the server room adjacent to the White King building and the D2 tunnel.

Be cautious with Reserve, as extracting is challenging without a bag or if you lack a Red Rebel. The danger of camping and player “ratting” is particularly prevalent at D2 and the Hermetic Bunker Door—two of the most perilous extraction points.

Understanding the Applications of Virtex Programmable Processors

Virtex Programmable Processors are primarily needed for completing the Lend-Lease Part 2 quest from Peacekeeper. To finish this task, players are required to collect two processors, which then unlocks the subsequent Peacekeeping Mission task necessary for accessing KAPPA.

In addition to Lend-Lease Part 2, players must obtain five Virtex Processors for the Special Equipment quest—an advanced level task that only a small fraction (about 0.1%) of players typically accomplish, unlocking a THICC Items Case barter with Peacekeeper.

Notably, Virtex Processors can be used for crafting and bartering. One processor can be crafted using a combination of 1x Advanced Electronic Materials Textbook, 1x Leatherman Multitool, 2x Military Circuit Boards, 2x CPU, and 5x Capacitors. This recipe is available after completing the Lightkeeper’s Information Source quest and can be crafted in the Intelligence Center Tier 2.

For bartering, three Virtex are needed for a Secure Container Beta (3×2) from Peacekeeper, two for a modded AK-104 T-SAW from Mechanic, up to 16 for an Advanced Current Converter from Mechanic (linked to the Trouble in the Big City Lightkeeper task), and three for a Microcontroller Board from Mechanic following the Missing Informant Lightkeeper task.

While some of these uses may appear inconsequential, the Secure Container Beta is particularly beneficial for players with the base edition of the game. Although the Microcontroller Board is essential for crafting an LEDX, it requires expensive components, including a GPU, 5x GPhone X, and 5x VPX Modules.
