Ultimate Guide to Using Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In the immersive world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Scouts serve as your stealthy allies, expertly executing various tasks with remarkable discretion.

These invaluable companions support you in multiple ways: from resource collection to assisting in your thrilling missions and even helping to restore your reputation. With a limited number of Scouts at your disposal, it’s crucial to utilize their abilities effectively. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to maximize their potential.

1. How to Utilize Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Players can deploy Scouts for the following tasks:

  • Identify Objectives
  • Gather Resources
  • Remove Wanted Status

1.1 Identifying Objectives

Employ Scouts to uncover and pinpoint your objectives using their extensive network. Instead of directly marking a target, they provide three critical clues: the Province of the target’s location, the specific area, and a notable landmark nearby to direct your search.

To effectively dispatch Scouts for objective tracking:

  • Access your world map.
  • Observe the assassin icon in the bottom left corner, alongside bright dots representing your available Scouts for the current season.
  • If you are on a specific mission, check the clues about the related objective’s potential locations.
  • Issue the command ‘Scout the Objective’ to prompt Scouts to search that vicinity, enhancing your search area with the number of Scouts dispatched.

1.2 Gathering Resources

Scouts are also adept at collecting resources from enemy strongholds and fortifications. They can securely gather small amounts of wood, minerals, and crops. While Scouts can quickly transport lighter materials, heavier ones can be brought back to your Hideout more gradually.

Utilizing Scouts can help you erase your regional and wanted statuses. Initially, construct a Kakurega and upgrade it to level two. Once upgraded, you can assign Scouts to remove your Wanted Status.

To clear your status, open the map and hover over the wanted area. Subsequently, press the button labeled ‘Clear Regional Alert’ located in the bottom right corner of the screen to regain safe exploration.

2. How to Acquire More Scouts

Increase your number of Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows by upgrading your Hideout’s Study. Each enhancement adds an additional Scout, thereby expanding your total Scout pool. Moreover, you can replenish Scouts by waiting for the seasonal reset or by visiting the Kakurega in your Hideout to pay a nominal fee.

To replenish your Scouts at the Kakurega, approach the cloth sacks mounted on the wall. You’ll see the cost for replenishing Scouts as well as the quantity that will be restored.

3. Overview of Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is poised to release on November 15, 2024, as an action role-playing game developed by Ubisoft Quebec. This marks the fourteenth major installment in the celebrated Assassin’s Creed franchise, succeeding the 2023 release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and acting as the first title in the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform.

Set against the rich backdrop of 16th-century Japan during the twilight of the Sengoku period, the narrative explores the timeless conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood, who champion peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, seeking peace through domination. Players will experience this struggle through the eyes of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by a historical figure.
