In Chapter 158, we are presented with a glimpse into the unpredictable nature of Nino. Thanks to Akane, Ruby narrowly avoided being stabbed by a dagger. As Saitou and Akane discuss Nino’s past, the veil of secrecy surrounding the events that occurred years ago begins to lift.

The passing of Ai Hoshino, the mother of Aqua and Ruby and a beloved idol, has played a crucial role in the Oshi no Ko narrative. As Nino becomes more deeply involved, previously unknown information is revealed.

After pinning Nino down, Saitou inquires about her past as an idol and brings up the topic of her dating a fan. Nino then reminisces about her past and mentions a fan she had dated, who had initially been a fan of hers but eventually became a fan of Ai Hoshino instead.

Despite numerous speculations in the online community, it is important to note that Nino’s actions were not motivated by spite or jealousy, contrary to popular belief.

For her, it was only natural that her boyfriend would admire Ai Hoshino, who is widely regarded as the brightest and most talented idol in the world. As a result, she quickly came to terms with this fact.

Nino’s former boyfriend, Ryosuke Sugano, was the same man who fatally stabbed Ai Hoshino. Saitou believed that Nino was deeply affected by Ryosuke’s actions and subsequent suicide, as he was upset about Ai.

Surprisingly, Nino was not affected by the situation at all. In fact, she was the one who asked Ryosuke to commit suicide. As a devoted fan who firmly believes she is Ai’s number one supporter, Nino’s motive for wanting to kill Ruby was not driven by jealousy or revenge, but rather by her desire to ensure that Ai remained the best forever.

Akane Kurokawa relayed to Niino that Ai Hoshino’s wish was to be just friends with Nino until her passing. Ruby revealed that Ai desired a simple friendship with Nino. This brought tears to Nino’s eyes as it was the very thing she had always longed for and the only wish she had.

Akane cuts to the chase and inquires about the mastermind behind the curtain, who she believes orchestrated everything Nino and Ryosuke have been involved in. She is convinced that they could not have planned and carried out the crimes on their own.

The panels may switch, but it is certain that the true mastermind behind Ai’s death will be revealed in the next chapter. In the meantime, we have gained a great deal of insight into the circumstances surrounding Ai’s death.

The last installment of Oshi no Ko concluded with a shocking scene where Ruby was stabbed by an unidentified person who had knocked on her door. In chapter 159, we witness Nino’s knife piercing through Ruby’s stomach as she begs for forgiveness and warns her not to surpass Ai.

It was then revealed that Akane had been disguised as Ruby, wearing a knife-proof vest. In the meantime, Ruby was safe and sound, getting ready for her upcoming concert in a different location.

Nino approached her former president, who she had been caught in the act by, and was at a loss for words. Saitou inquired if she was seeking retribution against Ai, and also mentioned that he was aware of her ex-boyfriend’s transformation from being a fan to being infatuated with Ai.

Nino refuted this and clarified that she had already forgiven her boyfriend, Ryousuke. She pointed out that at the time, Ai was such a popular idol that it would have been strange if Ryousuke didn’t have feelings for her.

The focus shifts to Ruby’s performance at the concert, which was flawlessly executed. We even witnessed Kana’s emotional state during the show as she prepared to depart from the idol group.

Following that, we caught sight of Hikaru Kamiki tuning into the live concert stream. Upon his invitation for Aqua to join him, Aqua responded that he was searching for a solution to fulfill Ai’s desires and rescue Hikaru. Unfortunately, it appeared that all efforts may be futile.
