Underappreciated Warzone LMG Dominates Meta SMGs with Impressive Time to Kill

The close-range meta is incredibly competitive in Warzone Season 6, yet a surprising LMG has emerged that outperforms the top SMGs in the game.

In close-range combat, most Warzone players favor SMGs due to their rapid fire rates and time-to-kill (TTK) attributes. Season 6 offers a variety of choices, including the Superi 46 and the buffed HRM-9.

However, it might be shocking to learn that the DG-58 LSW, an LMG, actually exceeds them in TTK performance.

CoD expert WhosImmortal spotlighted this weapon in his video on September 29, revealing its stats in comparison to other meta contenders, and the outcomes were clear.

Equipped with the JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit, which effectively modifies the LMG to behave like a lightweight SMG, the DG-58 boasts a TTK of just 632ms up to 12 meters. This beats the Superi 46 and Static-HV, only falling short against the BP50 Assault Rifle.

In mid-range engagements, it performs similarly to the Striker, but while the other choices struggle at greater distances, the DG-58 secures kills in under 850ms even at around 50 meters—almost a full second faster than its closest competitor.

“Don’t sleep on the DG-58 conversion. It’s very good and highly enjoyable,” WhosImmortal advised, and he shared the optimal loadout:

  • Muzzle: Quartermaster Suppressor
  • Ammunition: 5.8×42 High Grain Rounds
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag
  • Stock: Recoil Reduction Buttplate
  • Conversion Kit: JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit

You may recall the DG-58 LSW from Warzone Season 3, where it dominated as the best long-range weapon in the game. However, after a nerf in Season 4, it faded from memory.

But with the JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit equipped, this weapon seems poised to reclaim its place as a top close-range option in Season 6.
